Professor Rodney Farzboom is the secondary antagonist of 102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue. He was a scientist who was Cruella De Vil's love and perhaps her most important man, because he developed her robotic toys and the Supergloop formula.
Biography[]
Almost nothing is known about Farzboom's past, it is certain that he was a scientist of Cruella De Vil, who developed and built various toys that they wanted to sell to children, but they didn't really buy them. The woman also saw that they wanted something completely different, so she told the scientist over the phone to carry out plan b, which consisted of kidnapping her main enemies, the hundred and one dalmatians. The scientist used his robotic toys so that the kidnapping of the dogs would not be too conspicuous and only their parents, Dottie and Dipstick and two kids, Domino and Bully, avoided the plan. Farzoom then proceeded with his plan, which was to develop an extremely sticky formula called the Supergloop that would frozen all the dogs and then sell them all over England as perfectly realistic animal toys. The kidnapped dogs were locked in different wooden boxes and scattered in different locations to make it more difficult for the authorities to track and find them, but the remaining Dalmatians were not lost either. Domino and Oddball went to the Regent's Park, where they met a talking parrot, who told them that the robotic toys were also looking for them and that they were hunting other dogs all over England, and then they wanted to take the crates to Cruella’s toy factory, which was outside of London. At the same time, he also said that the robotic toys are quite vulnerable, because they can easily go wrong with a sharp sound, and a big hit can destroy them immediately, that is, even the puppies are able to fight against them and help their brothers and sisters.
The two small dogs successfully freed their brothers and destroyed the toys, and Cruella decided to stop them, and Farzboom helped her. The puppies were on top of Big Ben, and the scientist gave Cruella a smaller helicopter that shot tomatoes at them, but the animals were not idle. There were four catapults on the top of the clock tower, which could shoot hard pineapples, and the puppies realized that the helicopter's instrument was very sensitive to the sound of the bell, so the structure malfunctioned for a short time, but it did not fall. Cruella was angry that her scientist only told her this when the trouble had already happened, and she thought she should hurry, but it was too late, because the helicopter had been hit too many times and became almost completely uncontrollable, but she was still able to take it down. to land safely with it. After that, the woman ordered her two men, Jasper and Horace, to end their continued failures and catch the two dogs, then she called Farzboom to her, who had a bucket stuck to his right hand, and said that there were still minor bugs, but the formula will be ready soon, which made Cruella happy. After that later, the woman once again personally attempted to stop the two puppies as her men failed again and Farzboom gave her another invention. This time he gave him a boat that had better control than the boat, could go faster, and had a tomato cannon on it. Another important thing was that this invention, unlike most that the scientist gave Cruella, was not sensitive to sound waves so it was fully functional and ready to fight. The puppies were on a small island where the evil woman had trapped them, and the only solution was they throw the melons next to them with somersaults. The melons colored the woman's dress, who was very nervous and tense because her new dress was almost ruined, so she tried to move faster with the boat and shoot, but in the end the melons covered everything so much that she couldn't see anything, so she gave up the fight and ran away. Cruella was extremely angry, her minions were afraid of her because she shouted a lot and chased them out of her room and she only wanted to talk to Farzboom, but she tried to stay calm with him. The scientist said that they managed to fully develop the formula and as soon as the robotic toys return with all the dogs, they can start implementing their realistic animal plan. The evil woman became very happy because she knew that if they were successful, she would be filthy rich.
However, things didn't turn out the way they wanted, because the two puppies freed all their siblings and made it to Cruella’s toy factory, where she was already waiting for them in the center of the factory with a cannon that shot the Supergloop formula at them, and Farzboom supervised the operation of the invention while the other machines also handled it. However, due to some technical error, cannons were chained down to the puppies, with which they were able to shoot the computers that were around the woman. After nine were destroyed, six robot-faced computers appeared, which together with the woman shot electric waves at the dogs, but they were also destroyed, and she was upset because they were expensive props, but she also noticed that two screws had fallen out of the lattice base below her and he didn't have a good feeling. After that, three flying computers similar to electric atomic nuclei appeared, which also shot at the puppies, but in the end all three were destroyed, and the evil woman realized that she would not be able to hold on for long, but it was too late because the last screw fell out and the lattice base opened in several directions under her. Cruella fell into the extremely sticky formula and shouted to Farzboom to help her, who didn't really know what to do, but tried to help her somehow. But Domino and Oddball went behind and started barking loudly, and the scientist got scared, jumped forward and fell into the formula. Cruella was angry and disappointed and began to insult him in various ways, but he was not offended and calmly said that at least they should bathe before they are caught. Cruella de Vill and Farzboom were arrested and sentenced to twenty years in prison, and the scientist told the woman in their cell that their bodies would be stuck together for about that long due to the Supergloop formula, so at least they could actually stay together in prison, which she didn't really agree with.
Personality[]
Farzboom was a calm, optimistic, hopeful and very intelligent person. He was very much in love with Cruella, he definitely wanted to impress her, he smiled and was cheerful when his love was happy and satisfied. At the same time, he was unscrupulous and ruthless, because it was never a problem or a questionable act to make living toys out of puppies for children and then sell them for good money. Farzboom was not strong or physically dangerous, but what made him important was that he was very intelligent and creative. He developed several different inventions of varying quality on his own. The robotic toys and a small copter were not among his best ideas as they were too sensitive to sound waves and easily damaged by physical impact, however the boat with the tomato cannon was his first real advance. Even the puppies themselves were surprised that, despite the fact that Cruella's scientist sometimes seemed stupid, how intelligent he actually is, since he created a large electromagnetic room by himself, developed the Supergloop formula, for which he also built a separate cannon, designed and built his own energy cannons and also made his own sound lab.
Trivia[]
- Farzboom is not the most evil character among the villains of 101 Dalmatians, but if he had been successful, he would have been one of the cruelest characters. Because of the sticky formula, the dogs would have been absolutely unable to move, so they would have died of hunger or thirst because they would not have been able to open their mouths, so the extremely realistic animal toys would have actually been the corpses of small Dalmatians that are sold to children.
