Professor Souichi Tomoe, is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Mistress 9) in Infinity Arc of the manga series Sailor Moon and season three of the anime Sailor Moon Crystal. He is the leader of the Death Busters and the father of Hotaru Tomoe.
In Japanese, he was voiced by Takuya Kirimoto in Sailor Moon Crystal Season 3 and in English he was voiced by Keith Silverstein.
Appearance[]
Tomoe is an adult man who is about 35-years-old and has white hair and gray eyes. He also wears large round glasses and on his right eye/lens, he has the mark of Germatoid. Throughout the entire series until the Death Busters' defeat, he is always seen wearing the same outfit: a long-sleeved light blue shirt with thin black stripes, a blue necktie, blue pants held up by a black belt, black shoes, and a white lab coat.
Biography[]
Tomoe was a good scientist who was forced out of the scientific community for inappropriate experiments, selling some of these findings to purchase property that served as the basis for Infinity Academy where he continued his research. But a Tomoe was horrified when his wife Keiko and Hotaru were caught in a lab explosion caused by a bolt of lightning that contained the Daimon Eggs of Pharaoh 90. His wife already dead, Tomoe attempted to save Hotaru's life by converting her into a cyborg, selling his soul to Pharaoh 90 to give his daughter new life. Tomoe became a Daimon's vessel from here, attempting to create "Superior Beings" from hybridizing human and Daimons. He eventually assumed his monstrous form Germatoid before was put to rest by Sailor Moon's Rainbow Moon Heart Ache.

- The differences between Tomoe across adaptations make him somewhat similar to the Ayakashi Sisters and Sailor Galaxia, who were killed off in the manga, but survived in the 90's Sailor Moon anime while also being redeemed and given more understandable motives behind their actions.
- His voice actor in Sailor Moon Crystal, Takuya Kirimoto, voiced J. Geil, Sabretooth in Marvel DISK Wars, and Charlotte Cracker.
