Professor Yugami is a scientist who served as the brains of the Youkai Army Corps under Gashadokuro and was a major antagonist in Ninja Sentai Kakuranger.
He was played by Noboru Akina.

Past[]
Professor Yugami first came to be when humanity's negative emotions physically manifested and the Youkai formed thier own group under the leadership of the most powerful of thier kind; Daimaou. Professor Yugami was among the Yokai who managed to avoid being sealed behind the Seal Door by the Ancient Kakurangers but was left with nothing to do when the Yo Power was sealed with Daimaou.
Kakuranger[]
By 1994, the Yo Power is released by Kappa only for the Kakurangers to emerge in opposition so Professor Yugami turns an abandoned hut into his laboratory where he offers his services to the Youkai.
Professor Yugami's first client is Tengu who employs his help to turn several children into past Youkai so that they can kill the Kakurangers together. With his new invention, Professor Yugami is able to turn the children into copies of Kappa, Oboroguruma, Azukairai, Mokumokuren, and Nurikabe but Tengu is killed and the duplicate Youkai cease to exist. With Tengu dead and his laboratory compromised, Yugami moves into the basement of the mansion where the Youkai are based and becomes subservient to Gashadokuro.
Yugami's second client is Kanedama who employs his help to create special coins so that everyone in Tokyo will give him everything that they own. When Sasuke ambushes the Youkai at night, Yugami saves him but the scheme later completely fails. After Keukegen is defeated by the Kakurangers and has to be saved from getting killed, Junior assaults him before dragging him down to Professor Yugami's laboratory. Yugami is ordered to give him an upgrade, granting him a machine gun and a chain to restrain the Beast General Fighters but he is killed anyway. After the Shuten-Doji Brothers grow giant, Professor Yugami sends them special armour equipped with a saw and drill but Muteki Shogun makes short work of them.
During a later attack by the Flowery Kunochi Team, Professor Yugami personally goes to Tokyo and sets up a device designed to prevent the Kakurangers from morphing or communicating with each other. Later, after Junior begins the final stages of the ritual to awaken Daimaou, Professor Yugami sends his master a flame-thrower to get the edge against the Super Ninja Beasts before goes to the city to watch in person. However, after Junior is killed by Super Kakure Daishogun, the God General blasts the Seal Door with eye-beams to attempt to stop the ritual. The attempt fails but destroys the Seal Door, it's pieces raining down on Professor Yugami and crushing him to death.
Professor Yugami is heard, along with all the other defeated Yokai, behind the Seal Door after Daimaou is finally sealed away by the Kakurangers. Reeling that they are now powerless in captivity, the Yokai all vow that they will one day be reborn and regain their power, cursing humanity.
Personality[]
Professor Yugami was an extremely dedicated scientist devoted to Gashadokuro but also had a highly sadistic streak as he relished in hearing the children screaming after he kidnapped them for Tengu.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Longevity: Professor Yugami lived for at least a thousand years without any side effects.
- Weapons Crafting: Professor Yugami was an expert at crafting weapons and armour as seen when he created the upgrades for the Shuten-Doji Brothers.
- Youkai Creation: Professor Yugami was able to infuse six children with Youkai spirits to aid Tengu.
- Fourth Wall Breaking: Professor Yugami broke the fourth wall and addressed the audience multiple times such as after the death of Tengu.
- Corruption: Professor Yugami was able to create coins for Kanedama that made those they were attached to give him everything they owned.
