Pseudo-Palutena

The Pseudo-Palutena (in Japanese: (パルテナもどき, Parutena Modoki) is a boss in Kid Icarus: Uprising.

She is voiced by Ali Hillis.

Biography[]

Pseudo-Palutena twisted version of Palutena created by Dyntos as a joke. She first appeared looking just Palutena as the second and last part of Lord Dyntos’ second trial after Magnus and Dark Lord Gaol. She laughed horribly saying she was going to finish Pit, much to his surprise. He thought this imposter Dyntos’ made was really poor taste, but Dyntos teased him by asking him where the real Palutena was. Pit was stunned when she didn’t answer him, but he was still reluctant to fight. Nonetheless, this Palutena is almost identical to the fight when she was possessed by the Chaos Kin. However, the player will notice that there’s nothing above her this time, meaning they have to attack her now. After enough hits, this Palutena will show her true form, purple and grotesque Pseudo-Palutena. Pit was surprised, but relieved about attacking this time. Pseudo-Palutena will move faster now, but Pit still managed to defeat her, he called her a big fake but responded that she was at least “beautiful.”

During the battle against the new Great Sacred Treasure, Palutena was revealed to be put to sleep by Dyntos during the fight against Pseudo-Palutena

Super Smash Bros.[]

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Pseudo-Palutena’s spirit is represented by a purple Palutena. There is also a Poké Ball that always results in a Ditto, which represents Pseudo- the false doppelganger of Palutena. The stage represented the castle throne room where she was fought (which in turn looked like the throne room of Dark Lord Gaol’s castle).

Personality[]

Unlike Palutena when possessed by the Chaos Kin, Pseudo-Palutena, while cruel, is also arrogant and theatrical with a flair for deception and psychological manipulation. From the moment she appeared, she exhibited a bloodthirsty and sadistic demeanor. As part of his trial for Pit, Dyntos had her intentionally mimic the real Palutena to confuse and emotionally disarm Pit. Her impersonation is designed to throw him off balance and create internal conflict, making it harder for him to fight back. Even after being exposed and defeated, she clung to her vanity.
