Psycho-Pirate (real name Roger Hayden) is a deranged criminal and an inmate at Arkham Asylum. He appears as a minor antagonist in the 2018 Arrowverse crossover Elseworlds.

He was portrayed by Bob Frazer.

History[]

Early Life[]

Roger Hayden became the Psycho-Pirate after he came into possession of a golden mask, giving him powers and making him insane in the process. He began a criminal career and eventually was imprisoned in Arkham Asylum.

Elseworlds[]

In 2018, Hayden along with a dozen inmates, was released from his cell by John Deegan as a distraction after the latter was confronted by Oliver Queen and John Diggle. During the chaos, Hayden retrieves his mask, attacks multiple people and tries to escape by to commandeering a van, only to be stopped by Batwoman and placed back in Arkham. He is last seen in a cell near the now transformed Deegan and apparently befriends him, while speaking of a coming multiversal crisis.

Erased future[]

Roger Hayden was involved in the Crisis of 2024, when the Flash battled the Reverse-Flash before disappearing from the timeline. He was arrested afterwards (presumably for criminal activity of some sort), and claimed to have the ability to remember the events of that night in the way they were supposed to happen, while many others have claimed contradicting versions of the events (whether the Flash was assisted by Supergirl and the Atom, or a team of the Green Arrow, Batwoman, and the Elongated Man). Psycho Pirate claimed multiversal awareness, speaking that the crisis event resulted in whole worlds living and dying. The research of his account continued 25 years later.

Trivia[]

This is the first live action adaptation of Psycho-Pirate.
Hayden was originally planned to appear in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, but he was removed due to time constraint.
Hayden's Medusa Mask was seen as one of the artifacts in Jasper Winters' mill-house in the TV series Constantine.
