“ | Mondo: Hm, I see the boy’s found himself a new sport. Sprocket: You know it, pop. Mondo: And the winner is Prince Sprocket! You definitely have the makings of a champion, son. Sprocket: Well, it’s all in the flywheels big daddy. Machina: Wouldn’t it be nice if we could knock out those Rangers so easily? Sprocket: Mom, Dad. I have a creature that will send the Rangers reeling! Machina: A lovely idea! Mondo: Indeed. |

Biography[]
Past[]
Punch-a-Bunch was manufactured by the Machine Empire, working under King Mondo and Queen Machina. With their monsters and never-ending army of Cogs, the Machine Empire was able to devastate and conquer entire galaxies.
Zeo[]
In 1996, King Mondo leads his Machine Empire to the Moon where they drive out Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa but their invasion is ultimately stalled by the interference of the Zeo Rangers.
After Main Drain crippled the Zeo Megazord, Lieutenant Stone begins teaching free boxing classes for the Youth Center and Adam signs up so Sprocket takes up the sport as well and decides to use Punch-A-Bunch to destroy the Zeo Rangers. He surprises Adam by luring him into a construction site when he walks home and summons Punch-A-Bunch for a bout with the Rangers. Adam and Punch-A-Bunch are both evenly matched until the monster uses a sledgehammer to defeat Adam so the Ranger defeats Punch-A-Bunch with a jump punch. When the other Rangers (besides Tommy who is on a spirit quest) arrive, Sprocket has Klank and Orbus enlarge Punch-A-Bunch so Zordon has to call Tommy away from his quest and summon the Red Battlezord. Tommy initially has the upper-hand but Punch-A-Bunch blinds it with mist and defeats the Zord by hitting it with his sledgehammer and performing a devastating jump punch. Although this ejects Tommy, it also destroys Punch-A-Bunch's left glove so he has to retreat and get it repaired.
To force Tommy to fight again though, Sprocket reveals that he turned Adam into a trophy after Adam used that jump punch and that he will only return the Ranger if they win the next boxing match. Since the transformation spell is connected to his monster, when Punch-A-Bunch returns half an hour later with new spiked boxing gloves, Tommy is forced to deploy in the Red Battlezord again. Upon arriving though, they get sealed in a boxing ring with ropes that fry whatever touches them as Sprocket had earlier decided to make the fight as unfair as possible. Although the Red Battlezord puts up a good fight, Punch-A-Bunch cheats again by blinding it with mist again and beating it back into the electrified ropes. Before he can finish it though, the other three Rangers intervenes and Kat destroys the control machine which causes the ring to vanish. Punch-A-Bunch charges to attack anyway but the now equal match-up allows Tommy to turn the tables. After knocking him back with a punch barrage as well as launching and punching him back, the Red Battlezord obliterates Punch-A-Bunch with an energy spin attack.
Punch-A-Bunch is later recalled along with Main Drain, the Drill Master, the Leaky Faucet and the Somnibot as monsters that fought the Zeo Rangers and lost. Frustrated with his constant past defeats, and prompted by Queen Machina's comment that they lacked his particular cunning, Mondo decides to destroy the Zeo Rangers himself only to be defeated by the Super Zeo Megazord.
Punch-A-Bunch is rebuilt and seen in the audience at Prince Gasket's Machine Arena when Tommy forces Jason to fight Altor. However, the Rangers are later able to escape after Tritor destroys the shield generator which renders Gasket's plan a failure.
In Space[]
Two years later, Punch-a-Punch is seen in the tavern on Onyx when Andros visits the planet to take the Mega Voyager cards from Darkonda. He tries to stop the Red Ranger when he flees the planet but is pushed out when Andros passes close to him on his Galaxy Glider.
Later that year, Punch-a-Bunch is seen amongst Rita and Zedd's army during thier invasion of the M-51 Galaxy. Although they defeat the Gold Ranger, Punch-a-Bunch is turned to dust with the rest of the army when Zordon's Energy Wave washes over the universe.
Personality[]
Bunch-a-Bunch is a determined and extremely violent monster who spouts plenty of boxing lingo and pretends to be honourable. Due to possessing a thick accent, he uses a lot of stereotypical New York slang (eg “wanna” and “clobbah”) in almost every sentence. However, he is really an underhanded creature willing to do anything to win which means everything from using a hammer in what is supposed to be unarmed combat to blinding his enemy with mist spit although he is very loyal to Sprocket who he considers his boxing coach.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Strength: Punch-A-Bunch knocked Adam back with multiple punches and took him down with a strike from his sledgehammer. When giant, he knocked back and overwhelmed the Red Battlezord back with single punches, managed to grab and throw it into the boxing ring ropes and could knock it far away with a smack.
- Jump Punch: Punch-A-Bunch's most powerful attack where he jumps, flips, dives forwards and delivers a devastatingly powerful punch to his enemy's chest. This instantly defeated the Red Battlezord but also broke his glove and forced Punch-A-Bunch to retreat.
- Durability: Punch-A-Bunch has a very strongly armoured chest and gut so he is unfazed by multiple punches to the chest and stomach from Adam and getting slugged in the face and upper-cutted in the chin. When giant, he is unfazed by being struck by dozens of punches and kicks from the Red Battlezord to the face and stomach.
- Sight: Punch-A-Bunch can see despite lacking eyes.
- Agility: Punch-A-Bunch can jump, flip and then jump again to perform his powerful jump punch attack.
- Boxing: Punch-A-Bunch is a very talented boxer capable of matching Adam and the Red Battlezord in battle.
- Reflexes: Punch-A-Bunch can move fast enough to dodge a punch at his head from Adam by moving his head.
- Ice Breath: Punch-A-Bunch can spray white-grey mist from his mouth which, although it did not damage the enemy, would leave them completely blind and open to attack.
- Belt Transportation: Punch-A-Bunch can retract his body into his belt and rocket away as a fireball to withdraw from battle.
Weaknesses[]
- Powerful Attacks: Performing attacks that are too powerful, such as his own jump attack, break Punch-A-Bunch's gloves and force him to retreat until they are repaired.
Arsenal[]
- Fists: Being a boxer, Punch-A-Bunch typically fight with his bare hands but was a formidable fighter.
- Spiked Boxing Gloves: After being repaired, Punch-A-Bunch wore spiked boxing gloves to give him an unfair advantage against the Red Battlezord.
- Sledgehammer: Punch-A-Bunch usually uses a sledgehammer to even the odds when he starts losing. After gaining his spiked gloves, he stopped using this.
- Electrified Boxing Ring: Sprocket deployed an electrified boxing ring which Punch-A-Bunch used to electrify the Red Battlezord and pin the Zord against it.
