Puppet Sorcerer is a minor antagonist in the 2023 urban fantasy manga Kagurabachi. He is a independent sorcerer hired along with the Trauma Sorcerer by Genichi Sojo to capture Char Kyonagi.
Biography[]
Past[]
The Puppet Sorcerer was once a participant in the Seitei War where he witnessed a huge enchanted blade. Some time later after the war, the Puppet Sorcerer heard a myth that people who ate the corpses of Kyonagi clan members were immortal.
Kagurabachi[]
The Puppet sorcerer and the Trauma sorcerer were hired by Genichi Sojo to capture Char Kyonagi alive and eliminate Chihiro as a reward, to which the sorcerers agreed.
Puppet Sorcerer and Trauma Sorcerer managed to locate Chihiro and Chara who were driving a car, so Puppet Sorcerer immobilized the car they were driving by creating a spiral of his puppets. However, Char and Chihiro managed to escape from the car, one of the people said that he saw Chihiro and Char, which led both Sorcerers to their trail.
A spiral of clones of the Puppet Sorcerer and the people in the vehicles dissolved underground past Char and Chihiro, surrounding Shiba's car in the process. Chihiro grabbed Char's arms and managed to escape with the Puppet Sorcerer, which made Chihiro suspicious and wondered if he was the one who created those clones. The Puppet Sorcerer revealed to himself that Sojo had given him a reward to capture Char and recover the enchanted blade that Chihiro had and then summoned his dirty clones to attack Chihiro. Hinao found out what the goals of the sorcerers who attacked were so she tried to contact Chihiro but was unsuccessful.
Chihiro fended off the attacks of the Puppet Sorcerer's clones and came to the conclusion that these clones were made of mud and dirt while he was in the alley. When the Puppet Sorcerer appeared with a number of his clones, he recalled his previous encounters with the power of enchanted blades during the Seitei War. However, the Puppet Sorcerer also noticed the difference between the Enten that Chihiro possesses and what he saw in the war. The Puppet Sorcerer took note of Chihiro's skills and then sent his clones to run inside. As Chihiro tried to cut the Puppet Sorcerer, the Trauma Sorcerer suddenly appeared and reached into Chihiro's mind and aimed his hand at Chihiro's face.
When Chihiro recalled his memories of eating a meal with his deceased father, they were replaced by the death memories of his father. When Chihiro came out of his memories, he realized that Char was also incapacitated by her memories, who was responsible for the Trauma Sorcerer's spells, which could blind a person with their memories and could be triggered when they remembered their traumatic experiences. The puppet sorcerer, surrounding the area with his clones, wondered if he and his Trauma Sorcerer should eat Char due to the rumors that whoever eats a Kyonagi clan member will be immortal. To which the Trauma Sorcerer informed the Puppet Sorcerer, explaining to him that the most important priority is the reward that Genichi offers them and debunks the rumor about him supposedly being immortal by eating members of the Kyonagi clan. Some time later, both sorcerers checked Chara to see if she actually had the immortal skills of the Kyonagi clan. After the Trauma Sorcerer tested her by breaking her limbs, it turned out, to her disappointment, that Char actually had healing powers.
