The Purple Spy is the secondary antagonist of the comic: Gravity Falls: Lost Legends: Comix Up.
Originally a normal comic book character, he came to life after Stan locking away all of Soos' comics into a cursed chest.
Personality[]
Not much is known about the Purple Spy. He seems to be solely intent on irritating and causing mischief to anyone who he meets. He is also a coward as he always runs away from the Pines.
However, even though he was not a major threat to the Pines Family and their allies, he is still a villain since he could've easily told them where Stan was. But instead chose to attack and run and in the end, never telling them where to go, and instead causing conflict. In his cowardice he led the Pines and their friends to be defeated by the Indestructi-Buddies.
Appearance[]
“ | You there! Have you seen a pointy man with a fedora and no respect for the laws of physics? | „ |
~ Ford asking a skeleton in The Grimdark Chronicles comic where the Purple Spy is while giving the skeleton an explanation of the Purple Spy's appearance. |
In the Shmad Magazine and Indestructi-Buddies comics, the Purple Spy wears a daisy looking flower with a yellow center, and black glasses with an identical swirl on each lens. He also wears a purple fedora with a black ribbon as well. Aside from the aforementioned clothes, he is entirely purple. Strangely enough, he seems to be wearing something on his torso as he appears to have sleeves. He has a pointy nose like a cone as well. His flower has a hidden red boxing glove with a yellow line at the base, with a spring attached to it. Strangely the daist didn't seem to open when the boxing glove appeared out of it.
In the Heart Captor Dokidoki Nekochan comic world he is explicitly seen wearing a coat, boots, a belt with a ribbon(now white), and a fedora. All in black and white. This further hints that he was wearing a coat in the previous section. However, it's possible that when changing his comic book style, his clothes changed as well which was the case for the Pines family as well as Soos and Wendy.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Hidden Equipment:
- Punching Glove: He uses it on Ford when he first meets him, it seems to come out when holding the flower in a certain way, since in the panel he was holding the flower.
- Bombs: When Ford caught him after gaining powers after Soos rewrote the narration box, the Purple Spy pulled out a bomb powerful enough to knock Soos into the margins of the comic multiverse. As well as this, it scattered Soos from his friends, and clearly took away all the powers that they gained.
- Fast Running Speed: The Purple Spy was initially able to outrun the Pines family, however after a while they caught up.
Biography[]
Origins[]
The Purple Trickster originates from the in universe comic of Shmad Shmagazine(a parody of Mad Magazine). Soos bought one of the magazines featuring him, and put it with his other comics after Soos had to store his comics at the Mystery Shack due to Abuelita filling Soos' shelves with her "Creepy Porcelain Angels".
Coming to life[]
Due to Stan's hatred of comics, he locks away all of Soos' comics into a cursed chest. However, the cursed chest put a curse on Stan so that a narration box would haunt him wherever he went. When Stan and Ford investigated the chest, Stan was pulled into the chest and a comic titled The Cursed Stan #1 took Stan's place. Ford, Soos, Wendy, Dipper, and Mabel jumped into the comic to rescue Stan.
Meeting the Pines family[]
After a while, the team met the Purple Spy and Ford asked where Stan was, but the Purple Spy hit Ford with a hidden punching glove and claimed that he would not reveal where Stan was until they caught him.
Running from the Pines and their allies[]
While chasing him, the team ended up in a manga world where they saw him escaping said world through a high school locker. The team ended up in The Grimdark Chronicles, and Ford asked a skeleton to show them where he went. They chased the spy to the comic: The Indestructi-Buddies #618.
Final encounter with the Pines and their allies[]
After they defeated them, Ford catches the Spy and demands to know where Stan is, while claiming "No funny business". However, the spy pulls out a bomb, and the team are knocked out of the panels into the margins. The Spy is never seen again. However, considering Wendy tore some of the pages of the comics they were trapped in, and the fact that Mabel used a substance to wipe out some of the comics, he may have perished.
