Puschov (French: Wronzoff) is the main antagonist of the Tintin comic book The Black Island. He is the leader of the Counterfeit Ring, an organization of counterfeit money smugglers, which he leads alongside Dr. Müller.

He is first seen pretending to be a victim who was allegedly knocked out by Tintin, in order to have him arrested by the authorities, but Tintin manages to escape. He then tries to force Tintin to fall off a cliff to his death, but gets his leg bitten by Snowy, failing his plan. He is later revealed to be the master of Ranko, a gorilla living in the Counterfeit Ring's hideout.

Appearance

Puschov is a man with black hair only on the sides of his head, a black beard, round glasses and a hat. He also wears an outfit with two color variations.

Personality

Puschov is depicted as a cunning and deceptive figure, who tricks the authorities and Tintin, like pretending to be a victim so he can get Tintin arrested for "attempted robbery".

Biography

Puschov is first seen in the ferry Tintin boarded from Ostend to Dover, where he falsely accuses Tintin of attempted robbery, tricking the authorities by pretending to be the victim and hiding a baton and his papers inside Tintin's overcoat, causing him to be arrested. However, Tintin escapes by handcuffing the Thompsons to each other.

He is later seen when Tintin arrives in England, capturing him and bringing him to a clifftop, where he forces Tintin at gun point to jump off the cliff, only for him to be bit in the leg by Snowy, saving Tintin, but is knocked down by a goat who was chasing the white dog, as the two criminals run off. He is then finally seen at his organization's hideout, where he serves as the master of Ranko, a gorilla who lives in the Black Island. As Tintin defeats his men, Ranko chases Tintin around the tower, but Puschov's associates are freed and chase Tintin as well, only for Ranko to fall down on them, due to Snowy scaring him with his barking, finally defeating Pushcov and his men, who are then arrested for their crimes.
