Qasim Javadi is a minor antagonist in the 2020 video game Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, who appears in the mission "Nowhere Left to Run". He is the second-in-command of an unnamed Iranian terrorist group who provided support for the hostage crisis, and was an associate of the Soviet spy "Perseus".
He was voiced by Farshad Farahat.
Qasim Javadi was born in 1946 in the northwest of Iran and grew up in poverty, but would show promise in his youth as a student as he attended the University of Tehran. Though Javadi wanted to become a doctor, he dropped out of the university due to dissatisfaction with the field as he became attracted to politics. He eventually started going to meets in Tehran to hear of the political resistant movement, and encountered Arash Kadivar at one meeting.
Qasim and Kadivar would become close allies in trying to undermine Shah's government, and would become the leaders of an unnamed Iranian terrorist group who's main goal was destroy the west. Qasim would work on financing the organization was Kadivar worked on getting assets to join his cause, and would work with Perseus, who was the head of the titular spy network, Russian mafia boss Anton Volkov, KGB agent Vadim Rudnik, and former CIA operative Robert Aldrich.
When Javadi and Kadivar took hostages that alerted the United States government, but it's later revealed that it was part of a plan to work with Perseus. While Kadivar went to scheduled meeting in Turkey, Qasim stayed in an apartment in Amsterdam with bodyguard, but was secretly found by CIA operatives Russell Adler, Alex Mason, and Frank Woods with the help of the town's police chief. Javadi attempted to escape but was cut off on an apartment building, and was interrogated by Mason for Kadivar's location. Afraid to be killed, Qasim revealed that Kadivar was at a scheduled meeting at the Trazbon airfield in Turkey. His fate is left up to the player, with him either being killed by Mason or Adler, or captured and placed into CIA custody.
