Hi. This is Thesecret1070. I am an admin of this site. Edit as much as you wish, but one little thing... If you are going to edit a lot, then make yourself a user and login. Other than that, enjoy Villains Wiki!!!
Now the veil drops and chaos begins. Violence, wonderful descent into madness. Each will be different you know, following their own unique darkness, the parts of them they try so hard to control and lock away. They should thank me without goodness that light life can be so much more interesting...and so much shorter.
Quan Chi is a supporting antagonist in the 1998-99 TV series Mortal Kombat: Conquest. He is a sorcerer from the Netherrealm and the leader of the Brotherhood of Shadow. He is the main antagonist of the episodes "Quan Chi" and "Flawed Victory", an anti-villain in "Unholy Alliance" and the overarching antagonist of "The Festival of Death".
Quan Chi was a powerful sorcerer and necromancer and resident of the Netherrealm. He was also the leader of the cult known as Brotherhood of Shadow and an ally of Emperor of Outworld Shao Kahn. Quan Chi had the power to bring people back from the dead only to use them as his personal slaves. He had a soft spot for dead female slaves most notably Siann, Mika and Sora, whom he used as his personal enforcers. Mika was also his love interest.
Quan Chi desired to make Kung Lao his personal slave and own his soul. He sent his female assassins to kill him but they failed as his friends Taja and Siro came to his aid. Quan Chi was angered but thought of another plan to have him. He used his magic to awake Kung Lao's, Siro's and Taja's inner darknesses so that he can use them easily. However, Raiden intervened and explained to Kung Lao how he was being used. Quan Chi thought he could easily win against the bloodthirsty Kung Lao but was caught of guard and after he realised that he can't have Kung Lao he escaped.
Quan Chi was then approached by fellow sorcerer Shang Tsung, who proposed an alliance in order to eliminate Kung Lao and thus gain Shao Kahn's trust once again. Quan Chi agreed with one condition, to learn Shang Tsung's soul stealing ability. They workded together to create an alternate realm and trap Kung Lao there forever. Quan Chi, realising that Shang Tsung could not be trusted warned Siro and Taja who managed to save Kung Lao in time.
Quan Chi would later stay in the shadows for a while, letting only his slave and lover Mika fight in the Festival of Death host by Qali, in order to gain more slaves. He showed himself once again, after Queen Kreeya started to fight against Shao Kahn, seeing this as an opportunity to gain more power for himself while his rivals as busy fighting each other. He sent his three assassins to kill Shang Tsung who was trapped in the Earthrealm but they failed. He then had Siro and Taja kidnapped while he and Mika posed as Siro and Taja in order to fool Kung Lao. His plan failed resulting in a fierce duel between him and Shang Tsung. Shang managed to escape through a portal and tried to assassinate Shao Kahn posing as Quan Chi, thus making him en enemy in the eyes of the Emperor. Quan Chi had no choice but to ally himself with Kreeya, but she was murdered and succeeded by her daughter Vorpax who approached Quan Chi for a new proposal of alliance to which Quan Chi agreed despite Siann's warnings. Quan Chi also brought a new slave named Cilene, whom Siann despised. Siann cut of Cilene's head angering his master, but before he could reprimand her, Shao Kahn's Shadow Priests attacked them and overpowered them both. Quan Chi tried to flee but the Shadow Priests used cobalt (to which he had a weakness) to trap him and kill him along with Siann.
It is unknown what Quan Chi's fate would be if the series wasn't cancelled. Strangely this version of Quan Chi didn't seem to have connections to either Scorpion or Sub-Zero unlike his video-game counterpart, however it's possible that if the series had continued those relationships would be explored.
