Queem Macman, more commonly referred to as simply Queem, is an overarching antagonist of the manga series Choujin X. Queem was the president of Great Guelta, using his position to plunge the world into a major conflict known as the Great Choujin War.
Biography[]
Originally a soldier in the Gueltan Commonwealth, Queem Macman was experimented on by the government and awakened as a choujin. Guelta, which was looking to assemble a battalion of choujin to unify the neighboring states, made Queem the battalion's commander. However, Queem used his power to lead a coup against his country. Upon conquering the neighboring states and assimilating them into Guelta's territory, Queem turned the Gueltan Commonwealth into a state known as Great Guelta, and from there declared war on the neighboring nations.
Due to Queem's overwhelming power, as well as the strict discipline he placed on his troops, the warlord was able to plunge the entire world into a chaotic war known as the Great Choujin War. Because of Queem's sheer might, he was given the label of "Choujin X," a title reserved for extremely powerful choujin who have a massive impact on their era.
In addition to Queem's hunger for power, he seemed to have a burning hatred for religion, going on his own into enemy territory to murder clergy even when they posed zero threat to him. It was on one of these raids in the land of Yamato when Queem killed a sixteen year old nun by the name of Sora Siruha, who was later awakened as a choujin upon being killed by Queem.
During the invasion of Antoland, Queem found himself at a stalemate. Although his Choujin soldiers were technically immortal due to being able to use raise, Choujin feel an increasing amount of suffering after using too many raises. As his soldiers were in agony, many chose to die rather than continue raising. As such, Queem turned his forces south to Yamato, which had an abundance of poppy fields that could be used to produce opium.
However, this would be the beginning of the end for Queem, as during his invasion of Yamato, he came face-to-face with Sora Siruha in what came to be known as the War of Nanasu. Sora proved to be an extremely powerful choujin, surpassing even Queem himself in power. It was for this reason Sora earned the label of "Choujin X" herself. Seeking to protect her homeland from Queem's invasion, Sora created the organization known as Yamato Mori dedicated to stopping Queem.
In spite of Queem's massive power, he was unable to defeat Sora Siruha. Eventually, Queem was assassinated by Antitise, and Great Guelta crumbled without the guidance of its leader.
