~ The Queen's most famous quote.
Queen Grimhilde, commonly known as The Evil Queen or simply as The Queen, is the main antagonist of the 2025 Disney musical fantasy film Snow White, a live-action remake of the 1937 animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
She’s the vain and tyrannical queen of Snow White's kingdom, the second wife of Snow White's late father and the stepmother of Snow White. Obsessed with ruling her kingdom and being the fairest of the land, Grimhilde suddenly decides to kill her stepdaughter when her Evil Mirror tells her that Snow White is the fairest in the land, setting into motion the film's plot. She’s also based off her original incarnation with the same name.
She was portrayed by Gal Gadot, who also played Gisele Yashar in The Fast and the Furious, Linnet Doyle in the 2022 film adaptation of Death on the Nile, and Sarah Black in Red Notice.
Years after the king's death, the queen's hatred for her stepdaughter has escalated and plans to kill her. Under the Evil Queen's rule, people are either left in poverty due to excessive taxation or conscripted into the royal guard. Everyone presumes that Snow White is dead, unaware that she’s confined to the palace as a scullery maid. The queen gets a magical mirror, which talks to her and tells her that Snow White is the fairest of them all and always responds in the queen's favor, which pleases her.
Sometime later, the mirror claims that Snow White is now the fairest woman in all the land, much to the queen's anger. When Snow White meets Jonathan, a handsome bandit, she tries to get the queen to help the people in the kingdom, but she declines and Snow White leaves. The queen, jealous of Snow White's beauty, orders her huntsman to locate the princess and kill her, but he can't bring himself to do so and lets the queen know. Angry that the huntsman disobeyed her, the queen punishes the huntsman by chaining him and locking him in the dungeon after seeing that Snow White has been warned of her stepmother's intention and that she has fled into the woods.
The queen soon finds Snow White and disguises herself as an old hag, offering her an apple, which the queen has poisoned. Snow White bites into the apple and falls into the Sleeping Death. As Snow White begins to fall under the influence of the curse, the queen informs the princess that she killed the king years ago. Snow White falls into a deep sleep outside the cottage, where the Seven Dwarves find her.
After freeing himself and the huntsman from their shackles and escaping from the dungeon, Jonathan goes into the woods and looks for Snow White. He sees Snow White affected by the queen’s spell and kisses her.
Snow White is soon awakened by Jonathan and together, unknown to the queen, they have rallied the entire kingdom to stand up to the queen. The heroes reach the castle, where Snow White confronts her stepmother, who provokes her to take the throne by force. Snow White tries to reason with the queen, which leads to the guards to team up with her and the townspeople to kick the queen out of the kingdom and dethrone her. The Magic Mirror tells the Queen that Snow White will always be fairer than her due to being fearless, fair, brave and true. Snow White arrives to see the Queen destroying the Mirror, which is revealed to be the main source of her power. The queen then, apparently, meets her demise when she turns into glass herself and the mirror repairs itself. Her remains are later dragged into the mirror.
When the queen was gone for good and her father avenged, Snow White became the new queen of her kingdom and married Jonathan.

Trivia[]
The makeup that Gal Gadot created for Queen Grimhilde's old hag disguise in the live-action remake required four hours to apply.
There were some differences that the Queen was and did in the remake compared to her animated counterpart: To be added
Gal Gadot's performance as Evil Queen was panned by several critics since the film release.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]
Film critic Tyler Taing stated; Gal Gadot turns in what might be her worst performance to date. Gadot is woefully miscast as the Evil Queen, unable to sell us on the glamor, fierceness, or true camp of a classic Disney villain. Gal Gadot's take on the Evil Queen is deeply uncalibrated, either giving us too much or too little energy, fluctuating from scene to scene. Additionally, her villain song, "All is Fair", is somewhat fun lyrically, yet it feels like it was written for a vocalist of a much higher caliber. Now, Gadot is admittedly facing an uphill battle with the quality of the film’s writing. But as a performer, she completely drowns under the weight of the production. It's difficult to comprehend what she is adding to Snow White (2025) other than the inevitable reaction videos that will be hilariously clipped from her scenes online.[1]
