Biography[]
She first appeared when she raided Spear, Fang and Mira's boat while they were journeying home with three unhatched eggs. After Kamau accidently destroys one of the eggs, the queen seizes the opportunity to order the guards to capture Spear, Fang, and Mira and take them as prisoners. When they placed Spear and Fang in the dungeons alongside Kamau, she cruelly coerces the two into cooperating in her invasions by threatening to destroy another one of the eggs. Fang refuses to do so by roaring at her, but Spear calmed her down and convinces her to obey the queen for the sake of the eggs.
As several brutal months pass, the queen manages to invade as many lands as she and her people can prosper with Spear, Fang, and Kamau's reluctant assistance. Numerous innocent people were decimated, kingdoms were destroyed, their leaders were mercilessly executed, and many valuable treasures as well as a leopard cub from a Babylonian king were taken. During her invasions, Spear discovers that the queen is forcing Kamau to decimate kingdoms on her behalf just to protect his young daughter. They even took on a Philistine fleet that tried to raid her warship. After capturing the king, the queen forces Mira to dance for her.
But when she refuses, she gives her a violent demonstration as she murders the king through her dance moves. Out of fear, Mira proceeds to dance for the queen. One day, the queen docks the ship at a territory where an Indian tribe is located. The chief calmly welcomes her and offers her his people's food as peace offering and tribute from the tribe. But the queen didn't want any of the peace offering and orders Kamau to exterminate the tribe. He refuses at first, but the queen threatens him that she'll kill his daughter unless he obeys her. Left with no other choice, he reluctantly slaughters the chief and decimates the entire tribe with his brute strength. Spear couldn't take the queen's evil tyranny anymore and decides that it's time that he and his friends have to leave the warship. On that very same night, one of the queen's guards comes down to feed the prisoners pieces of meat. But Spear knocks out the guard, takes the keys, and unlocks his and Kamau's cells.
Fang wanted to go too, but Spear convinces her to wait. Spear wanted Kamau to escape, but he wouldn't move an inch because he feels powerless against her. Spear climbs all the way to the top of the queen's throne room to rescue Mira, Kamau's daughter, and Fang's eggs. But he was caught by one of the queen's slaves as he scares her. Spear fends off the guards and engages the queen in combat. As Spear fights off the queen, Mira and Kamau's daughter take the eggs and head for the door. When the queen catches them and goes to kill them, Spear thrashes her and fends off the guards, allowing the girls to rush down the stairs.
Suddenly, the eggs unexpectedly hatch and both hatchlings let out a cry for their mother. Fang, hearing her new offspring's cries, breaks out of the dungeons and rushes to their aid, leaving Kamau confused. The queen corners the group and takes the hatchlings hostage while one of the guards captures Kamau's daughter. With everyone completely outnumbered, she forces everyone to surrender their respective children to her, while looking expectantly at Kamau.
The next day, she has Spear, Mira, and Fang in line to be executed. And Kamau is ordered to carry out the execution while she holds his daughter and Fang's offspring hostage. Kamau was hesitant to do it at first. However, having remembered the first time he was held back upon the first time the Queen to his daughter hostage, he cuts Fang free instead. The Queen was outraged at Kamau's betrayal and goes to kill his daughter. But Kamau saves her by flinging her backwards. Spear and Mira break free from their bondage and begin a battle for freedom.
The Queen attempts to kill Fang with crossbows but is challenged by Spear. Though the Queen gained the upper hand by slashing him, Spear still managed to hold his own against her. But during the battle, one of Fang's offspring got injured by one of the Queen's guards. Spear and Mira saved them by jumping overboard alongside while calling off the battle with the Queen. They managed to find refuge in another boat that carried slaves, much to the Queen's chagrin. Meanwhile, Kamau and his daughter manages to find the captured villagers and free them. The Queen got so angry that she decided to take them all down by force. But she is cornered by Kamau and his villagers. She tries to fight him herself, but she was vulnerable against him due to his massive endurance. Kamau grabs the Queen and then throws her off the ship, sending her crashing into the boat Spear, Mira, Fang, and her offspring are in, instantly killing her and ending her reign of terror once and for all.
Trivia[]
- She is the first character in the series to wear makeup.
- Ima might be a reference to the mythical Babylonian queen, Semiramis, who originally built the "Hanging Gardens of Babylon".
- Ima is the fourth antagonist who showed no redeeming qualities due to her inhumane cruelty, total lack of humility in her soul, and her uncontrollable pride. The first three are the Ape Shaman, the Night Feeder and Mad-Man.
- Ironically, Ima sort of foreshadowed her own death as she kicked the Philistine king from the balcony of the throne room, sending her captor to his demise. Kamau did a very similar thing by grabbing her, throwing her overboard, and sending her crashing into one of her slave boats.
- Her death is very similar to the High Priestess as they were both thrown off from incredibly high places by people who served them, but eventually turned against them, which were Kamau and Ashi respectively.
- The only difference is that Ashi threw an arrow at her evil mother that made her fall over the ledge while Kamau just literally threw Ima overboard.
- Since Ima's corpse wasn't seen in the end of The Colossaeus, Part III, it's quite possible that after she was killed by Kamau, Spear and Mira either disposed of her body by pushing it into the sea or Fang and her babies might have devoured it.
- Coincidently, Queen Ima's death in the ninth episode of the second season of Primal was aired on the very same day as the death of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.
