~ "Melia" in the second chapter. |
The Queen of Keves is a minor antagonist in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. She is a mechanical duplicate of Melia, created by the Consuls to maintain control over Keves.
Like her organic counterpart, she was voiced by Shiori Katsuta in Japanese and Jenna Coleman in English.
Appearance[]
The Queen is a near-identical counterpart of Melia, with the exception of her robotic face hidden behind her white mask. Her true face is metallic black and resembles a human skull, with glowing violet eyes. She has long silver hair and small wings on her head akin to the High Entias. She wears a long black ball dress decorated in blue feathers.
Biography[]
Sometime after Queen Melia was captured by Z, he constructed the Queen of Keves to rule over the Kevesi nation of Aionis, the merged form of Bionis and Alrest. From the Queen, the Colonies of Keves were forced into an endless war between the Colonies of Agnus led by the Queen of Agnus.
The Queen is first seen attending a Homecoming Ceremony and honors the soldier as he passes on. Later, following the grand battle between Colony 14 and Colony Sigma, the Queen initiates a rebirth ritual to create a new batch of Kevesi soldiers within the cloning pods. After the party is tasked as the new Ouroboros, the Queen holds a meeting with her soldiers to track down the Ouroboros and destroy them.
Later on, in Chapter 4, the Queen and N summon Ethel of the recently liberated Colony 4 to the Kevesi Castle. They reveal that they intend to destroy Colony 4 with the castle's Annihilator for it served no more use to Keves, only offering to pardon it if Ethel wipes out the Ouroboros with Cammuravi, to which she accepts.
After destroying the Annihilator, the party attempt to escape from the castle, only for their detour to lead them into the throne room. They find themselves ambushed by the Queen and N, berating them for going against her rule of the nation by destroying her Colony's Flame Clocks. The party tries to explain themselves, but the Queen refuses to listen and declares that she will take them out herself.
The party initially has the advantage, but the Queen activates a barrier around herself that blocks their attacks. She then unleashes numerous fireballs from her scepter, wounding Nia and Sena. As she prepares to summon a massive fireball to finish them off, the Queen malfunctions, causing her mask to fall off and reveal herself as a mechanical imposter. The Ouroboros then make their escape when the Lost Numbers liberate the castle to snatch several cloning pods.
Much later in the game during Noah's Side Story, the Ouroboros return to Keves Castle to obtain the last of the Origin metal needed to upgrade the Boundary. In the throne room, the party is confronted by the Queen, having been repaired from her previous damage, and Crys, now as Consul C. The Queen mocks the party for being foolish to stand before her once more and prepares for battle. However, Crys blasts the Queen in the side of the head to challenge the party solo, killing her instantly.
