| ~ Queenie's warning to Kid before hiring him |
Queenie Kapoor is a minor antagonist in Dev Patel's 2024 action thriller film Monkey Man.
She was the manager and pimp of the luxury brothel, Kings, and Kid's former employer. Her brothel was used to host members of Hindu Nationalist party, including Rana Singh and Baba Shakti.
She was portrayed by Ashwini Kalsekar.
Biography[]
Not much is known about Queenie's past. Sometime in her life, she was hired by Kings, and eventually became the Manager. As the manager, she was very abusive and strict with her prostitutes, believing she brought them off the streets and therefore entitled to their appreciation.
One morning, while she was having breakfast at a Cafe D'italia, she was approached by a street beggar in a wheelchair selling figurines of Hindu deities. Despite telling him numerous times she didn't have any money, he continued to nag her. He then used his wheelchair to knock over her drink, distracting her while he snatched her purse. After stealing her purse, the beggar made off. He sent the purse passing to various people before eventually ending up in the hands of Kid.
Kid went to Kings and used the stolen purse as an excuse to personally meet Queenie. Queenie gave him some money in return, but Kid instead asked her for a job. She then went off asking for his references and CV, stating they do not hire off the street. Kid showed her his burnt hands as a CV, claiming it to be from bleach, chemical and oil. With it, he asked her to give him the job nobody wanted, and he would take it without any complaint. Convinced, she hired him as kitchen staff.
After Kid failed to kill Chief Rana Singh during his visit to Kings, he was forced to go on the run as a wanted fugitive. A few days later during Diwali, the Hindu Nationalist Party, including both Rana and Baba Shakti, all gathered at the club to celebrate. Queenie therefore pressured her kitchen staff not to mess up anything to impress their guests. However, Kid, now stronger and more prepared, infiltrated Kings, and blew up the kitchen before attacking the dining hall where the party was gathering. This led to a large fight between all of the guards and Kid, allowing Baba and Rana to escape. Before he could use the elevator to go after them, Queenie entered with a gun and shot at Kid several times out of anger for ruining her business. Just as she was about to kill Kid, she was killed by one of her prostitutes, Sita, who bashed her head in with a tray. Kid then used the same tray to sever Queenie's thumb to gain fingerprint access to the brothel's penthouse, leaving Queenie's corpse mutilated.
