Cusco Quint, better known as Quint, is the main antagonist of the Timon & Pumbaa TV series. He is a muscular con artist with varying roles to suit his erratic and opportunistic behavior, and he appears as an "antagonistic jack of all trades" who often likes causing problems for Timon and Pumbaa for the fun of it.
He was voiced by Corey Burton, who also played Jones in Disney's Tarzan, and Onus in Disney's Treasure Planet.
Appearance[]
Quint is a muscular man who in build with black hair, a pink nose, and a shaven face, though his clothing is constantly changing along with his occupation in the show. For example, in the episode "Truth or Zaire", he appears as a wildlife photographer, while in "French Fried", he is a French cook who is trying to make escargot out of Speedy the Snail, a friend of the meerkat named Timon and the warthog named Pumbaa.
Personality[]
Even though his occupation varies throughout the series, Quint will almost go out of his way just to aggravate or torment Timon and Pumbaa at all times.
Most of the time, on top of having a very larger-than-life personality; he is also very arrogant, sly, sneaky, deceitful, conceited, bellicose, and manipulative enough to play the role of a trickster who enjoys tricking others into doing his bidding with aggression and deceit. He is also extremely zany and exaggerated, as he is often cocky, energetic, brash, boastful, flamboyant, overconfident, supercilious, overdramatic, fast-talking and outright egotistical of how deceptive, intelligent and versatile he believes he is with his multiple personalities he uses to hoodwink people with unscrupulous and sadistic intentions, and often speaks and praises himself in first person (which can make him rather silly, inept or outright laughable at times). Despite all of his dastardly misdeeds and eccentric behaviors as a devious two-faced scoundrel, he has been known in a few episodes to be a merely respectable man with a sincere job as a simple workman (though he still manages to get in the way of Timon and Pumbaa's plans somehow or another).
In "Klondike Con", Quint begins as an extremely civil and trustworthy gentleman in the first place, assisting Timon and Pumbaa, with Timon not gaining his trust, helping them get gold because of Quint acting a little greedy. When Timon and Pumbaa have the sack of gold with them as they are falling off of the cliff, Quint says to throw the gold to him to help them get back up. Timon (still in distrust) declines his offer due to how dishonest and traitorous he tends to be with faking kindess for his own schemes.
While Pumbaa reminds Timon all of the good things that Quint would have done for the both of them, so Timon chooses to throw the bag to Quint, so that he could save the two of them. At that moment, from "Courteous Quint", he turns into "Claim Jumper Quint" afterwards, and he becomes an extremely ungenerous, stingy, thieving, avaricious, materialistic and acquisitive thief who likes to rob the gold from Timon and Pumbaa out of pure greed and only revealed to act "charismatic" or "friendly" to getting people to like him and fall for his underhanded schemes.
It's not helping that he will go so far to pretend to be someone's friend, only to betray them and steal from them. In other cases, he will use his brute strength and force of personality to bully others into serving him.
He also appears to be so omnipresent with inconviencing Timon and Pumbaa with his arrogance and bravado about any job position he has to convince people he's innocent when he's not (which makes him appear in many sitautions the duo encounter and act aggressive towards them), and he's often an inconsiderate opportunist in terms of villainy. Where he is not seeking for any sort of conquest or plotting ruins, but rather having a questionable amount of enjoyment with being a general nuisance, showboat, manipulator, sadist, con man and bully. Sadly for him, he is also a screwball who is generally too amateurish and incompetent to be taken seriously, as well as being extremely goofy, sarcastic, petty, clumsy and beyond childish, so he often comes across as a self-absorbed goofball nobody should ever trust at all, and he always gets karma biting him on the butt at the end for his antagonism.
Biography[]
Quint appears all through the entire series. He makes his first appearance in the episode "Yukon Con" and his last appearance in the episode "Ready, Aim, Fire".
As his role varies in every episode that he appears in, Quint has different first names that are related to what his jobs are. For example, in "Yukon Con", he appears as Cusco Quint (a con artist who tricks Timon into stealing Pumbaa's gold, so that he can have it), in "Palm Beached", he appears as Concierge Quint (a hotel manager who keeps throwing Timon and Pumbaa out of a hotel) and he appears as Captain Quint in "Ocean Commotion" and "Going Over-Boar'd".

- Excluding Simba's appearances in House of Mouse or Kingdom Hearts, Quint is the only human to have met and had a confrontation with Simba (and vice versa), as seen in "Rome Alone".
- Quint's appearance and clothes as "Courteous Quint" in "Klondike Con" are a parody of America's 16th president Abraham Lincoln (also known as Honest Abe), including the top hat and the beard.
- Quint also has a habit of giving himself "nicknames", usually in relation to his jobs/roles in the various episodes that he appears in (ex. "Criminal Quint" as a robber, "Congo Quint" as a wildlife photographer, "Chef Quint" as a French cook, "Cusco Quint" as a con artist, "Concierge Quint" as a hotel manager, Captain Quint as a captain, etc.).
- Quint also makes a cameo appearance in the comic Go Fish!.
- Quint is very similar to Norman from Marsupilami, as they both have varying roles with different first names relating to their jobs, they both have shaven faces, and they both serve as frequent antagonists, making them the archenemies of the heroes.
- He is also similar to Red Guy from Cow and Chicken and Rancid Rabbit from CatDog, the three of them are villains of their respective shows, all disguise themselves as different characters and all three like to torture the two main characters, and they are both given moments of receiving comeuppance for their villainous antics.
