The Quintesson High Commander is the overarching antagonist of Paramount Pictures' 2024 animated film Transformers One. He is the most mysterious and secret high ranking commander of the Quintesson Army and was in charge of taking Sentinel Prime's energon back to the Quintesson homeworld, Quintessa as part of their bargain.
Appearance[]
The Quintesson High Commander is gigantic, towering over the already impressive Sentinel Prime. His body is covered in dark green plates resembling armor, held together by strands and tendrils. He has an alien-like head with two rectangular red eyes. His arms are very bulky and are covered in massive spikes. Rather than legs, he has numerous green tentacles attached to the bottom of his torso.
Personality[]
The Quintesson High Commander is a strict and fierce warrior who does not tolerate either failure or betrayal, as shown when torturing Sentinel for not bringing enough Energon during one transaction. Just like the other Quintessons, the High Commander despises the Cybertronians and believes them to be inferior.
History[]
Past[]
Years before the film, the Quintessons were one of the many aliens that attacked Cybertron, leading to a costly war that killed the 13 Primes after Sentinel, once the Primes' advisor, betrayed them just in favor to become a Prime, save for Alpha Trion who barely survived, which caused the Matrix of Leadership to vanish from Sentinel's grasp.
After the Quintessons won the war, they struck a deal with Sentinel Prime for a large amount of Energon delivered to them, with the Quintesson High Commander overseeing the transaction.
Transformers One[]
The Quintesson High Commander only appeared in one scene. The commander and his fellow Quintessons have returned to Cybertron to meet up with Sentinel Prime, who presents the Energon cubes. However, due to an Energon shortage, the Quintesson High Commander was left with only a pitiful amount of Energon rather than what they agreed on. Outraged, he grabbed Sentinel Prime with its tendrils and demanded more before sparing Sentinel when he begged that there will be more for them to have. The Quintessons then got back in their ship and left.
The High Commander and his fellow Quintessons likely heard the message sent out into space by the newly christened Optimus Prime, who warned them that further incursion into Cybertron would be met with strong resistance by him and Autobots.
It isn't known if the warning was actually heeded, or if the Quintessons would merely continue their existing plan of subjugation. However, given they will actually retaliate, the High Commander and the rest of the Quintessons will instead gain help from other enemies of Cybertron in crushing the resistance, destroying the planet, claiming the Cybertronians as their slaves, displaying the Matrix of Leadership as a trophy, and then attempt to conquer the universe.
Powers and Abilities[]
As the High Commander, he has authority over lower-ranking soldiers. It is much bigger than Sentinel, who even with his impressive power is easily intimidated by it.
