R is a minor antagonist in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. She is the Consul of Colony 11.
She was voiced by Sayaka Kinoshita in Japanese and Laurel Lefkow in English.
Appearance[]
R wears red armor. Her helmet resembles that of an animal with its long head and ears, presumably that of a jackal, feline or bat.
Biography[]
Little is known about R's past, although she serves as the Consul of Colony 11. She trained her soldiers to be vicious on the battlefield, such as allowing them to fight each other for sport. At one point in the past, her colony fought against V's, but was defeated.
Eventually, R deemed Ashera, the colony's commander and strongest soldier, a traitor for violating regulations by fighting without orders and using deviant tactics. Ashera would encounter the Ouroboros during their travels and convinced them into joining her raiding Colony 11 using brute force to fight off the attacking soldiers until R showed herself. She reveals the reasons for deeming Ashera a traitor by listing her "crimes". Ashera tries to reason with R, saying that she brought her many victories regardless and insists that the Consuls desire glory. R responds that she sees all of her soldiers as pawns for her to control, with Ashera being no other.
Ashera proceeds to insult R, claiming that the soldiers of Colony 11 fought in their wars only because they were willing to risk their lives, not because R gave them instructions, claiming they did so since the very beginning. This enrages R to the point of turning into her Moebius form, declaring to give Ashera the death she wants. R is ultimately defeated, but Ashera chooses to spare her since she didn't see their fight fitting enough to finish her off. R retreats, but not before vowing revenge.
Later on, a hoard of both Kevesi and Agnian troops attack the outskirts of Colony 11, continuously getting up regardless of how many times the party pushes them down. R appears before the hoard, declaring that she's come back to claim Colony 11 for her own with an army of zombified soldiers. After Ashera boasts on her strength, R acknowledges her strength and instead declares a duel. If Ashera can best her in combat, she will spare Colony 11. If not, she will have the soldiers wipe out everyone in the colony.
Ashera and the Ouroboros reach the location of the duel, Hovering Reef 0 below Keves Castle. Ashera feels a jab in her neck, to which R taunts her about the location being the same place where V executed her years ago, and calls her a coward for not telling her friends. Just then, W appears and stabs Ashera from behind, brainwashing her similarly to the zombified soldiers from before. R encourages W to "play" with her new doll, declaring this to be the duel in mind as Ashera lunges at the party.
Eunie then blasts Ashera with her staff and orders her to get up for this was not the death she was looking for. The motivation allows Ashera to snap out of W's control by putting barriers around her psyche. R angrily demands W to try again and yells at her when she thinks about walking off. Deciding to just kill the group with brute force instead, R transforms into her Moebius form and orders W to do so too. Ashera and the Ouroboros fight against both Consuls and defeat them. As she dies, R taunts Ashera that her scars will bring her pain until her dying day.
