~ Raúl to Sofía, citing she is the reason why he became the hacker.
THAT MONEY WAS STOLEN FROM ME!!!
~ Raúl's villainous breakdown as he fights over his money bag, which was previously stolen by Alex and needed by Javier, María and Claudia to save Natalia's life.

Raúl León is the main antagonist of the Netflix series Control Z.

He is one of the popular kids at National School who started growing resentful of his friends's mistreatment towards local outcast Sofía Herrera, whom he starts developing feelings for and decides to give her a world without lies, by acting as the hacker, thus gaining a bad reputation for leaking the secrets of others.

He is played by Yankel Stevan.

Biography[]

Before the Series[]

During a previous semester, Raúl used to hang out with the popular crowd at National School, consisting of Natalia, Gerry, Rosita, Maria, Pablo, Isabela, Dario and Ernesto. Just like them, he was very self-centered, arrogant and unkind, also looking down on local outcast Sofia Herrera, whom he nicknamed "Sofreak". Due to Sofia trying to cut her wrists with a pair of scissors (due to mental health issues regarding the fact of her father who is still alive), all of her classmates deemed her as "crazy" and considered that no school should allow people as dangerous as her. One day, Raúl invites all of his friends over to his place where they have fun as he shows them his father's antique collection and money. As they start recording videos, Raúl's father suddenly arrives and forces them all to leave, before scolding his son for invading his privacy.

Later on, Raúl is blackmailed by an unknown person, who is revealed to be Bruno, demanding he give him ten thousand pesos or he will leak some incriminating videos evidencing that Raúl's father is a corrupt politician. Overhearing his friends, Raúl realizes that they are only with him because he has money, so, after a conversation with Sofia at the school roof where she confides in Raúl her desires about wanting the world to be a better place in which everyone just told the truth to each other and stopped pretending to live fake lives and keeping things to themselves, Raúl starts to grow concerned of Sofia's wellbeing, then confronts Bruno for blackmailing him but still asks to teach him how to hack a phone. As his "friends" keep speculating about Sofia's unstable behaviour and wondering what it just means for them, Raúl investigates and finds out that she was admitted to a mental asylum, but he is thrown out before he could speak to her. He also snaps a picture of her reuniting with her long-lost father. Wanting to teach them a lesson, Raúl teams up with Bruno by creating the hacker account in order to get ahold of all of their intimate secrets, planning to give Sofia just that: a world without secrets.

Season 1[]

Raúl starts his actions as the hacker by picking Isabela as the first with her secret revealed, in which she turns out to be a trans woman, something only her boyfriend Pablo knows about. Unknown to either of them, Natalia and Gerry are forced anonymously by Raúl to parttake by threatening to make their own secrets public if they refuse. So, Natalia steals Isabela's phone and Gerry is cued to upload the video with Isabela's secret along with her childhood birthday (during her days as a boy), wishing that she was a girl. During a presentation hosted by Quintanilla to teach the students how to properly use their cellphones, Bruno, who is also involved in the scheme, plays the video, thus revealing Isabela's secret to the entire school. Humiliated, Isabela runs out of the auditorium in tears. Although she is comforted by Natalia and Maria (despite the former's unwilling betrayal), Pablo, who runs to check on her and surrounded by his friends, instead of supporting her, he pretends not to actually know Isabela's secret, ashamed of being ridiculed, and publicly breaks up with her, angering Isabela, who is also mocked by Gerry and his goons, Dario and Ernesto. "You're an idiot!", she yells at Pablo and walks out, with Natalia pushing him aside. Raúl then pretends to team up with Sofia and enlist her help in investigating this hacker.

Later on, the hacker texts Isabela, revealing the involvement of Raúl (who picked her), Natalia (who stole her phone) and Gerry (who uploaded the video) in revealing her secret, including Pablo's betrayal, and asks her if she wants to take revenge on her former friends. Having had enough, the infuriated Isabela replies "yes" and at her request, the hacker ends up revealing their secrets: Raúl's father is a corrupt politician father, Natalia, using her power as president of NONA, has been emblezzing the money that was earned for said party, Gerry is revealed to be watching gay porn and Pablo is exposed as an unfaithful boyfriend to Isabela after nude pics of him imply that he cheated on her (while they were dating) with another girl, only known under the pseudonym "Honey Bunny". Gerry still makes fun of Isabela over her gender identity, which evokes a violent fight between him, Pablo, Javier, the new student who enrolled mid-year, and Raúl, with Isabela calling out both him and Natalia for aligning themselves with the hacker and, making a childish tantrum, throws a glass vase at Gerry, who dodges it, when he refuses to stop provoking her. They are all summoned to the principal's office to sort out their issues, while Sofia gets herself sent there intentionally, by criticizing Gabriela's "poor" handling of the situation, to investigate more. An unlikely pairing, Raúl and Sofia start bonding with each other. Meanwhile, Raúl, Gerry and Natalia face the consequences of their actions while scolded by their parents, with Raúl earning a punch from his father who blames him for his dirty dealings being exposed. Sofia herself is also dragged into the game when the hacker threatens to reveal that her father is still alive.

When Luis, a lonely student, falsely admits to being the hacker (so that Gerry, Dario and Ernesto won't bully him anymore), Sofia is quick to see through his ruse, recalling how she has been standing up for Luis in similar situations, telling him he shouldn't have done that since it would imply that he is protecting the real culprit. However, Gerry, believing Luis's confession to be true, decides to take revenge on him by beating him up. The situation even gets worse when the hacker forces a public fight between Gerry and Luis. When the principal finds out, he locks Gerry in the auditorium and tries to force the students to go home. As Gerry repeatedly pleads to be let out, Alex, a socially distant, yet openly lesbian student, inexplicably releases him, so the fight is resumed. The hacker forces Luis to provoke the entire students (including those already with their secrets revealed) when they send him lines to his cellphone for him to speak. Sofia, Javier and Luis try to escape in Javier's car, but he is quickly dragged out by Gerry. As Luis runs for his life, Javier tries to hold him back but he lets go of his grasp, catches up to Luis and hits him hard, knocking him over and causing him to hit the pavement. Luis is sent to the hospital and lies in a comatose state. Luis's mother understandably blames the principal for the situation and Gerry is expelled for almost murdering his tormented classmate. He and Pablo blame Dario and Ernesto for Gerry's behaviour, although the latters take their friend's side, arguing that the hard punch didn't happen until the end. Raúl and Pablo disagree.

Realizing his parents fled the country to avoid prosecution and left him with larges sums of money, Raúl decides to host a party at his house, also inviting Sofia for the first time when they met. Although she initially declines, she is forced to do so by the hacker, ordering her to await further instructions. She is accompanied by Javier. Instructing Sofia to go up the roof, she finds Alex there, who reveals the hacker forced her to make Sofia jump off to the pool in front of everyone, threatening to make public Alex's secret if Sofia refuses. After a lot of objections from Javier, who finds this pointless, Sofia reluctantly jumps and the hacker stays true to their word in not revealing Alex's secret. Despite this, Javier angrily walks out of the party and Raúl rushes to her, telling Sofia it was reckless what she did. Going inside to help her dry her clothes and sharing a passionate kiss, the power suddenly goes off. While Raul goes to look on into the problem, Sofia is kidnapped and held hostage by the hacker. After a brief conversation, the hacker takes Sofia's bracelet, subdues her again and drops her unconscious at her house.

Gathering some clues from a truck, she teams up with both Javier and Raúl, who clash with each other over Sofia. They find out the truck belongs to Bruno, the school's head of I.T., and try to interrogate him, after realizing he is in league with the hacker. Bruno attacks Javier, somehow frees himself, and escapes. During the fight, Sofia finds a belonging of Javier's, causing her and Raúl to doubt Javier and start suspecting that he is the hacker and allowed Bruno to escape. To make things worse, Sofia and Raúl uncover a key fact about Javier's past: He is responsible for the death of Guillermo Garaby, a former teammate of his, whom he accidentally pushed off a balcony to his death, during a rite of passage. A former football player and influential businessman, Damián, who is Javier's father, pulled some strings to cover up his son's crime, which is the reason why he transferred late to National School in the first place. Javier claims he didn't push him off. Angrily pushing Raúl (who laughs off his threats) against a locker, the hurt Sofia tells Javier she doesn't recognize him anymore. Convinced that Raúl is the only one who never lied to her, Sofia sticks with him and they sleep together, saying that he can count on him if she needs anything. Then the audience is shown a brief recap of the previous semester and the origins (shown above) of Raúl's motivation to becoming the hacker, in addition of the actions that were all done by Raúl: forcing Natalia to steal Isabela's cellphone, cuing Gerry to upload the video with her secret, arranging the fight between Gerry and Luis (whom he sent the lines to speak as the hacker), scaring away Sofía's father (the reason why he didn't show up once at the bar to meet with her), forcing Alex to both unlock Gerry from the auditorium and make Sofía jump off to the pool, as well as being the culprit behind Sofía's kidnapping and painting Javier as the 'bad guy' to her by secretly stealing his belonging and leaving it behind at Bruno's house (and secretly releasing him, while at first playing along with interrogating Bruno) to make it look like Javier was Bruno's accomplice and hiding the newspaper of Javier's crime inside his locker.

Sofia and Raúl later report Javier's crime to Quintanilla and his alleged role as the hacker. As it turns out, in reality, Javier is innocent for being the hacker, but Raúl was nevertheless jealous of him and blackmailed the principal into expelling him, aware that he had cheated on Sofia's mother, whom he is seeing romantically, with Susana, a married teacher. Raúl then betrays his father by turning him in to the police. During the NONA party, now hosted by Rosita who took over as president following Natalia's removal, Raúl notices Sofia tense over Javier. He then suddenly admits to being the hacker to Sofia, to which she confidently smiles at and responds that she already knew, due to some hints that Sofia found: While they were sleeping together, Raúl said the exact same words the hacker told Sofia when he kidnapped her and found under his bed the mask he was wearing. Sofia calls Raúl out for hurting a lot of people, but he reminded her about the conversation they had at the roof, when Sofia longed for a world without lies and that she and everyone should be thankful for it: Isabela is no longer ashamed of her gender identity, everyone knows Pablo is a complete jerk and Natalia is not the nicer person she seemed to be. Javier is revealed to have secretly recorded the entire confession and plays it downstairs at NONA. Raúl tries to escape but is met with hatred by the students who turn on him for ruining their lives, just as the outraged Pablo beats him up. As revenge, Raúl leaks the secrets of everyone else, including Sofia (who lied about her father's death), Javier, Alex (who is in a forbidden relationship with her Biology teacher) and Maria, Natalia's good-natured twin sister (who is revealed to be the girl Pablo was having the affair with), causing Isabela to end her friendship with her as well. The students consequently fight each other over the secrets that are revealed, just as Raúl seizes the altercation to escape. Gerry, who also finds out through Dario that Raúl is the hacker, confronts him at gunpoint and blames him for what happened to Luis, who did not survive the fight. Gerry demands an explanation to Raúl for his actions. However, Raúl only provokes Gerry by revealing to him what was Luis's secret. Gerry tries to stop him by threatening to shoot himself (with Sofía and Javier trying to calm him down), but Raúl goes with it anyway by confessing that Luis had a crush on him. Furious, Gerry tries to shoot Raúl, but Javier is shot instead trying to break them up, much to his, Sofía's and the other students's shock.

Season 2[]

Shortly after Javier is shot, Raúl slides the gun back to Gerry before fleeing (as does Gerry) the scene on his motorcycle and returning to his house where he is still vilified by his former classmates who keep throwing stuff at him, expressing their anger for his drastic actions as the hacker. Raúl later shows up at a motel room where Gerry is staying to avoid the police but the details of their meeting are not revealed onscreen. Two months later, another catastrophe strikes the school, this time in the form of an unknown person (only known by the pseudonym "The Avenger") who wants justice for Luis's death at the hands of Gerry, demanding that they turn him over to them and warning that "you can't bury the past". He starts spying on Sofía, when he spots her walking out of her house, after being scolded by her mother, who is then comforted by Quintanilla for lying about her father's death. After Sofía and Javier save Darío and Ernesto, who were buried alive by the Avenger, Raúl again appears (wearing a hoodie), attacking and overpowering Javier before fleeing again.

The following day, Raúl returns to the school like nothing happened and is immediately met with hatred from most of the student body, particularly Pablo who violently beats him up until the fight is broken up. Quintanilla meets with Raúl at his office and makes it clear that he will no longer protect him now that his secret is out. Raúl and Sofía talk at the roof where he still tries to justify his actions, yet Sofía points out that, unlike him, she did not mess with people's lives before Javier, whom he is still at odds with, arrives and warns him to leave everyone alone. As he leaves the premises, Raúl is cornered outside and assaulted by some of the students, including Pablo who again does the same, and Sofía tries to interfere but to no avail. To get Quintanilla's attention, Sofía deliberately makes some of the cars's alarms go off, forcing Darío and Ernesto to hold Pablo back and the other students to retreat to their homes. Angry, Sofía asks Raúl why did he come back, but only replies that it was for her. Quintanilla again reminds Raúl of what he told him before. He returns home where Gerry, who is revealed to have been living there as a place of hiding for his crime, lets him inside since Raúl's keys were stolen and Gerry angrily calls him out for returning to the school, reminding him of the pact they have made not to expose themselves before they are interrupted by Sofía who punches Raúl for ruining her life and almost discovers Gerry hidden there until Natalia, who also spots Gerry but doesn't say anything, comes out of a room to deflect Sofía's suspicions after noticing some personal belongings. After Sofía leaves, Natalia then threatens to reveal that Raúl has been hiding Gerry, but he uses Natalia's involvement with the drug dealers, whom she owes bigger debts to, as a way to buy her silence.

However, Sofía's allegiance quickly shifts back to Raúl, particularly both due to Javier's blossoming closeness to Natalia (much to Sofía's jealousy) and him accusing her of still having feelings for Raúl even after everything he did to the school, which Sofía repeatedly denies claiming that his aid is only to get closer to finding the Avenger's identity, but it is very obvious that Sofía hasn't really gotten over him. Even after being advised by Gerry, Raúl seizes this opportunity of finding the Avenger in a bid to get back with her. By the time Gerry suddenly goes missing, Sofía has deduced that Raúl has been hiding him in his house, recalling the personal belongings thrown on the floor. With no other choice but to relent, Raúl finally confirms this and enlists Sofía's help in finding him, panicking over what the Avenger might do next. Using his hacking skills, they track Gerry's GPS location to a massive queer club, unaware that Pablo is following them and snaps a picture of them, before sending it to Javier, still disappointed that Sofía trusts him. Just as they confront him, Pablo bursts in and furiously charges at Raúl, cursing him for harboring a killer like Gerry. The two get in a scuffle, allowing Gerry to escape while Sofía vainly tries to stop him to no avail, pushing her into the ground until he is removed from the club by the bouncers. After catching up to him, Raúl tries to convince him that he and Sofía need his help in finding the Avenger, although Gerry refuses to be turned in but also Raúl refuses to leave him for dead. Raúl then gives Gerry money and instructs him to leave and never come back.

Back at his home, a heated argument between Sofía and Raúl ensues, with Sofía blaming both him and Gerry for Luis's death and still criticizing Raúl for the consequences of his actions. Raúl snaps back, saying that he never imagined that this would get to a boiling point for everyone, he can't help it the more he tries and that Sofía is his only weakness, before the argument quickly turns to sex and they spend the night together. Aside from telling Sofía that he hid Gerry ever since the day he found him and getting rid of the gun he used to shoot him, Sofía asks him if there is anything else she has to know because she won't afford to hear another lie. After a moment of silence (and flashing back to when he caught Quintanilla and Susana making out and used the information against them), Raúl falsely replies "no", still hiding the biggest secret he's been bearing during his days as the hacker. The Avenger later breaks into Raúl's home, tasering him and forcing him to unlock the safe, thus stealing all of his money for unknown intentions.

The following day, Pablo spreads the news about Raúl and supposedly Sofía's involvement in harboring Gerry, as a result turning most of the student body against Sofía. They are both summoned to Susana's office and try to explain that Pablo is messing with them but she doesn't believe them and considers having both of them expelled and turned over to the police, to which Raúl dares her to do so and uses his blackmailing techniques on her, suggesting Susana to look further into the case and make a fair decision. Sofía and Raúl then remember it is Quintanilla's farewell party, thus making him the Avenger's next victim. He is locked into a restroom and stung by bees until he is released. Sofía and Raúl then argue with Darío, who suspects them of having buried him and Ernesto alive and locking up Quintanilla because of the fact of having been the first ones to arrive at the scenes before witnessing Quintanilla's outburst to the students, who laugh at and record him, for refusing to acknowledge the hard work he has done to keep the school afloat. Alex is also disappointed on Sofía for aligning herself with Raúl, whom she still likes, and for the first time, Sofía admits it before they are interrupted by Rosita and Sofía vainly asks her not to tell anyone and that she did not harbor Gerry, but is ignored.

Sofía pays a visit to Luis's mother, who tells her to stop playing the detective and that is dangerous what she is doing. Despite being forced out, Sofía manages to obtain Luis's drawings to find more clues and shares them to Raúl, mirroring all of the students's punishments that have happened before, making them realize that the Avenger is fulfilling Luis's wishes of getting back at those people that have been bullying or mistreating him previously and after examining them again back at home, they deduce Rosita will be targeted next. They again sleep together.

The next morning, when Quintanilla arrives to take Sofía home, Raúl is the one who greets him at his doorstep. Raúl initially feigns ignorance about Sofía being at his house, but Quintanilla tells him Javier was the one who let him know that Sofía has been staying there, to which Raúl scoffs that if he told him that then he would check by himself. Quintanilla sarcastically remarks how "funny" Raúl is and that he is fed up with his attitude, with Raúl defending himself by reminding him that Sofía wouldn't like to see Quintanilla threatening him. Seeing the irony of his words, Quintanilla is surprised that now Raúl doesn't like someone talking back to him, but Raúl insists he doesn't know what is he talking about and Quintanilla reminds of the porn video he recorded of him and Susana making out, back when Raúl, using that information, blackmailed Quintanilla into letting him off the hook and framing Javier in his place as the hacker, but Raúl can only respond with silence before Quintanilla tells him to bring Sofía to him. Having eavesdropped on their conversation, Sofía is understandably upset with Raúl for using the information (even if he knew he was dating her mom) against them so that he wouldn't get expelled from the school, particularly as he had promised before he wouldn't lie to her anymore. Raúl says that it was the only way to get closer to her, but Sofía clarifies it would've been better and Raúl asks her if it was better to keep lying to themselves and deny their feelings for each other, which Sofía rebukes by stating that the worst part wasn't that he lied to her, but that she believed him before walking out and laments the fact that certain people can't be trusted. Because of this, Raúl does not show up at the school and stays home instead.

Later on, Pablo, still obssessed with his vendetta against Raúl, appears and violently beats him up (as usual), leaving him seriously injured. Demanding Gerry's whereabouts (unaware that he isn't living there anymore), Raúl laughs in disbelief and suspects him of being the Avenger as well as the theft of his money, which Pablo denies knowing about before he destroys a table of glass with a baseball bat and forces Raúl to confess to all of his crimes: the hacking, harboring Gerry and the Avenger. Raúl blatantly asks him why would he do that and Pablo again starts his violent rampage before Gerry shows up and knocks Pablo out. As they are recovering, Raúl wants to know why Pablo keeps beating him up, whether it makes him feel better or something. Pablo replies that it is because of Raúl's actions as the hacker and leaking Isabela's secret that he was exposed as a complete jerk to everyone. Raúl points out that he knew all along about Isabela being trans, that he turned his back on her when she needed him the most and that the worst part of it all is that he did truly love her, which is the reason why Pablo is so worthless and keeps on annoying María, criticizing him for not having the guts to face the truth. Raúl then tells Pablo that if he wants to beat him up, he has his right because for him the feud is over; Pablo obliges and leaves, telling both him and Gerry to look out for each other.

Gerry tells Raúl he is tired of running away and hiding, thinking is about time he settled his debt with Luis by turning himself in to the police. Nevertheless, Raúl suggests they get to the bottom of the mystery in identifying the Avenger first, bringing up Sofía's initial plan of using him as bait to lure them out of hiding. Gerry agrees but after that he is turning himself in and that will be it. However, Gerry initially refuses to go when he finds out that Raúl never got rid of the gun Gerry used when he accidentally shot Javier, with Raúl desperately persisting that it was in case things got messed up and they have. Gerry still insists that he is not going if the gun is too, so Raúl reluctantly agrees to leave it behind.

During nightfall, Gerry texts the Avenger for a meeting and they instruct him to go up the school roof. Once there, Gerry is shocked to find out that the Avenger is actually Alex, who wanted to make everyone feel guilty as she was for Luis's death and that she was the one who attacked Raúl and stole all of his money in order to start a new life with Gabriela, who had accepted a job offer in Spain. Alex initially contemplated abandoning her plans to be with her, put still went through with it after Gabriela left without her. She even snatched the gun from Raúl, who was following suit, despite promising he wouldn't bring it and apologizes to Gerry before Alex pushes him to the ground. They try to calm her down, to no avail: When Alex says what she is doing is justice, Raúl responds that she doesn't get to make that decision and she calls him out for his hypocrisy in the situation (when he thought of no one while being the hacker). Alex forces Raúl to take a picture of Gerry and make a poll for everyone to decide if Gerry lives or dies. After almost everyone decides that Gerry deserves death, Alex threatens Gerry at gunpoint into jumping off the roof while making him watch the same spot where he murdered Luis. Gerry hesitates and seems on the verge of it, while Raúl threatens Alex as well, that if Gerry is gonna jump it will be over his dead body because the minute Raúl leaves, he is telling everyone about Alex being the Avenger, but Alex insists no one is gonna believe him, the reason being obvious.

Before Gerry can make a choice though, Sofía and Javier arrive in time to stop Gerry from jumping and she manages to talk Alex out of continuing her revenge. Raúl slides the gun aside and asks Alex for his money back, Sofía telling him is hidden in Luis's locker. However, Javier takes the gun and aims at Raúl, wanting the money to save Natalia, who was kidnapped by the dealers for failing to meet their demands for the money she owes, but he defiantly refuses. Sofía deduces that he had tipped off María and Claudia over its whereabouts. Javier's yelling attracts the attention of María, Claudia and Susana who go to the roof where Susana and Sofía both tell him to drop the gun and he does, before the six of them get into a scuffle over the money bag (Susana, who refuses to give it back and tries to break them up, as does Sofía, Javier, María and Claudia who need the money to save Natalia's life and Raúl because it was stolen from him), resulting in Susana falling off the roof to her apparent death, with Pablo, who was waiting for María and Claudia outside, as a witness. Raúl, making an angry glare, observes with Sofía and María (who cues Pablo nodding her head) as he snatches up the money to rescue Natalia and drives off, leaving Susana to bleed out.

Plus, you were my inspiration, Sof. [flashback to Sofía's conversation with Raúl] (Sofía Herrera: Wouldn't it be much easier if everybody stopped lying? If they didn't have secrets?) [shifts back to the present] I wanted to get your attention. (Sofía Herrera: By kidnapping me? You couldn't think of anything simpler?) My whole f--king life was a lie. The only times I've ever felt something real is when I'm with you. (Sofía Herrera: That's nice. But you took things a bit too far.)
~ Raúl explaining to Sofía his motives for being the hacker, adding that his friends were all phonies but that Sofía was the only person whom he had real feelings for
Do you wanna know what his secret was? (Gerry Granda: Don't even think about it. Don't even think about it, you a--hole! Talk, motherf---er! Go ahead, let's f--king heart it!) I'm only gonna say that he liked you. (Gerry Granda: You motherf---er!) (Sofía Herrera: Gerry! Gerry!) [Gerry tries to shoot Raúl, but Javier is accidentally shot trying to break them up. Gerry looks on in shock at this while a crowd of the student body forms around them].
~ Raúl revealing to Gerry, who confronted him after finding out he is the hacker, that Luis had a crush on him, leading the infuriated Gerry to attempt to shoot Raúl, but the shot is taken by Javier while trying to intervene

Trivia[]

  • Incidentally, Sofía is indirectly responsible for Raúl becoming the hacker in the first place as she had brought up the fact that his friends were living fake lives and keeping things from each other. Then, as a result of finding out that they were only with Raúl because of his wealth, he had turned to Bruno, the head of the school's I.T. department, who would later teach him how to hack into other people's phones and aid him in all of his schemes.
  • Raúl serves as a foil to Javier Williams, as they are both wealthy students who are in love with Sofía (and are constantly fighting over her), yet they demonstrate it in very different ways. Javier proves to be a humble, honest, compassionate and righteous person while Raúl, on the other hand, is very cunning and scheming, using deceit and blackmail for his own personal gain, yet it doesn't change the fact that he, just like Javier, cares very deeply about Sofía and is willing to ensure her safety after seeing that she is different from the rest of his friends who were all a bunch of phonies, something that is proven when Natalia tried to mooch off his wealth to settle her bigger debts with the drug dealers.
  • Raúl's actions have had a major impact during the events of the second season as Alex, anonymoulsy adressing herself as the Avenger, demanded justice for Luis's death by terrorizing the students (though they did not care and tried to move on with their lives) into bringing Gerry, who is responsible for the crime, out of hiding and subjecting most of them through horrible punishments: burying Darío and Ernesto alive, spray-painting the lockers with the word "REVENGE" on them, setting Luis's house on fire, poisoning María (through a tampered bottle of wine), assaulting and putting Natalia into a van, locking Quintanilla inside the men's restroom to be stung by bees and switching Sofía's pills, although she had actually staged her accident and avoided the trap. She even tried to force Gerry into committing suicide in the very same spot where he murdered Luis as a way to pay for his death. In addition, Rosita was another target of Alex, but she was unwittingly saved due to Sofía's supposed accident. Raúl does not count because Alex only stole his money to be with Gabriela, who was to leave for Spain.
