The Raatma, also Rat man, is the main antagonist of the short horror found footage Storm Drain of the horror film V/H/S/94
Appearance[]
Raatma is a half-rat and half-human hybrid that lives in sewers. He has pale white skin, big-pointy ears, wide-open black eyes, and an enormously huge smile on his elongated head.
Biography[]
In Westerville, Ohio an urban legend about rat man appeared, a monster that lives in sewers. Channel 6’s reporter Holly and cameraman Jeff are interviewing citizens who, presumably, saw The Rat Man. The duo ends up inside a storm drain where they find a homeless man named Bill. They ask him if anyone else lives here and as he say “Raatma” a dark fluid escapes his mouth and then Holly and Jeff are being kidnapped before they escape by other homeless people, living there.
They wake up with their hands tied and underground citizens surrounding them. A religious guy they interviewed earlier tells them about Hail Raatma who is supposed to help them create a new world. Later, the creature itself appears and as some of its saliva collected in the bowl- it is poured over Jeff, melting his face. As then it happens to reporter the camera glitches and the story goes to channel 6 where Holly seems casual and in the news it is told and believed that she was rescued from the storm drain after getting lost there, Jeff is still missing.
As she makes new report she mixes some words up with “Raatma”, confusing her co-anchor. She ends up vomiting the same black fluid on him and making his face melt as well, while Holly smiles to the camera.
