Rachel Bowman is the minor antagonist of The Mentalist TV-show. She kidnapps Patrick Jane because he imprisoned her father. She was played by Jessy Schram.
Biography[]
One day, Patrick Jane goes to the store. However, he does not have time to buy anything. A man appears and starts a shootout. He kills the seller, but the seller manages to wound him. Patrick escapes and tells Teresa Lisbon what happened. Teresa Lisbon and Madeline Hightower go to the scene, but Patrick is no longer there. Craig O'Laughlin also joins the investigation. Meanwhile, Patrick is being held in the basement. The kidnapper demands his help to ease the pain from the wound, but at that moment a shot is heard and the kidnapper falls dead. A woman with a gun enters the room. She was already present at the scene of Patrick's kidnapping and gave testimony. Patrick recognizes her as the daughter of the criminal he put in prison. The criminal died in prison and now Rachel (that is the name of the kidnapper) wants to avenge him. Soon Rigsby discovers the car in which Patrick was taken away. He finds it in a different place than the witness indicated (and the description of the car itself does not match what the witness said). This means that the witness was lying. An investigation into all the cases in which Patrick participated begins. One of the criminals detained by Patrick (Linus Wagner) shares his guesses with the investigation in exchange for a reduced prison term. He tells Teresa about Rachel Bowman, Don Bowman's daughter. Don Bowman was a fraudster and murderer who died in prison from an illness. It was Patrick Jane who put him in prison. Everyone is looking for Rachel. Meanwhile, she is not sitting idly by. She demands that Teresa come to her. She takes her hostage and tortures her and Jane, after which she tries to kill them both. However, Madeline Hightower intervenes and kills Rachel.
Personality[]
Rachel takes after her father. She is a hardened criminal just like him. She loves her father so much that she decides to take revenge on Patrick simply for exposing and arresting him (even though Patrick couldn't do otherwise). She is even willing to torture Teresa Lisbon in front of him.
