~ The racist detective to Enrico Pucci. |
The unnamed racist detective is a minor antagonist in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean. He is an unnamed private investigator who was hired by Enrico Pucci before the series started, in order to separate his younger brother Weather Report from his younger sister, Perla Pucci, as Pucci discovered they were related and could not expose this due to religious obligations.
Unbeknownst to Pucci, this detective is a member of the Ku Klux Klan.
He was voiced by Yugo Sekiguchi in Japanese.
Appearance[]
The detective appears to be a short, overweight man with a balding head, long, black hair, and a moustache. He wears a pair of blue overalls with yellow buttons, a green shirt, and brown boots.
Biography[]
During his teenage years, Enrico Pucci had started to become a priest. When his sister Perla Pucci was observing a handsome delivery boy with her friends, a pickpocket suddenly stole Perla's handbag and then tried to escape. The delivery man intervened, throwing two cans out a window and knocking out the thief. This was how Perla and the delivery boy fell in love and entered a relationship.
Later, Enrico's mother confessed to Enrico the delivery boy was actually Enrico's twin brother who was stolen from the hospital after his birth: Domenico Pucci, renamed Wes Bluemarine by his adoptive mother. Enrico was reflecting on having a twin brother he never knew, wanting to get to know the man but also determined to keep the seal of the confessional. It was during this time Enrico's sister Perla revealed to him that she'd entered a relationship with Wes. Enrico decided that to protect his beloved little sister he had to end this incestuous relationship without her ever learning that her boyfriend was really her brother, and so he hired a private detective to make the two break up.
Because of the seal of the confessional, Enrico could not tell the detective the truth about who Wes really was or why he wanted Wes and Perla pushed apart. This led the detective to come to the erroneous conclusion that Wes was of mixed Italian/African heritage due to Wes's adoptive mother's previous relationships. This conclusion enraged the detective who was secretly a member of the Ku Klux Klan and violently opposed to interracial relationships. So, rather than quietly drive the two apart as Enrico had wanted, the detective instead violently attacked Wes, burning his house, killing Wes's adoptive mother, and lynching Wes. Perla took Wes down from the noose before he died but, believing that he was dead, she committed suicide by jumping off a cliff.
Enrico arrived at the scene in time to see Perla's corpse being taken away by firefighters. He remembered DIO's speech to him about "gravity" - that nothing exists and all of reality is an illusion. Enrico decided that the world was unfair but that if it was all an illusion it could be rewritten to be more fair. He used the Stand Arrow to gain the stand Whitesnake, allowing him to preserve Perla's memories, and set off on his own path of villainy.
Meanwhile, Enrico gaining a stand meant that Wes also gained a stand due to their spiritual connection as twin brothers. Using his new stand, Weather Report, Wes went after the detective for revenge. Filled with hatred for all humanity, Wes automatically and unknowingly activated his stand's ultimate power, Heavy Weather, causing a plague of snails. As Wes attempted to interrogate the detective for information on his crime, one of the snails climbed up the detective's arm which was holding his pistol, causing the detective to accidentally fire the weapon into his own head, avenging Perla's death but also denying Wes any information on why he had done what he'd done.
