Raczidian is a minor antagonist in Harry Potter. He is an ancient Dark Wizard that tried to attack a Wizarding village, but got thwarted by Illyuis's patronus.

Biography

According to legend, Raczidian was a dark wizard who lived in ancient times in a black castle, surrounded by a large forest with a colony of Dementors. Raczidian and his Dementors coexisted with a wizarding village that lived near him for several years because they left each other alone for the most part. This all changed when Raczidian saw a beautiful girl named Eliana collecting berries in the woods, that he wanted to be his wife. Raczidian sent a message to the girl's parents demanding that they let him marry their daughter, but they refused, so Raczidian threatened to send his dementors to attack the village if they did not agree.

The villagers tried to fight Raczidian's dementors, but their patronuses were slowly being overpowered by the sheer number of dementors. It looked like Raczidian would win, until one young orphan named Illyuis (who was told to sit out the battle because the elders thought his patronus would be useless) cast his own patronus, a mouse. It managed to stop all of the dementors.

Raczidian was angry that such a small patronus managed to thwart him, so he tried to cast a patronus too. Instead, maggots burst out of his wand and ate him alive because only the pure of heart can cast a patronus, and someone evil like Raczidian would be unable to.

Personality

Raczidian was described as an evil wizard that could coexist with dementors, implying that he often practiced the Dark Arts and pushed the boundaries of magic. He was pretty perverted, wanting to marry a young girl, and when denied by the parents, sent his dementors to attack the whole village, not caring that he would condemn them all to a fate worse than death. Raczidian was also one to underestimate, not understanding that a powerful patronus can only be made by wizards with good intentions, and realized this the hard way after his maggot patronus ate him alive.
