Radluk the Beastmaster is a minor antagonist in Peter Jackson's Middle-earth film series, being a minor antagonist in both The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies and The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. He is an elderly orc beast tamer who had served Sauron for many years.
Biography[]
Battle of the Five Armies[]
Radluk was an Orc of Gundabad who served Sauron in the Battle of the Five Armies as a soldier. He was wounded during the great battle and retreated with many others when the battle was lost.
Service in Isengard[]
Years after the great battle, Radluk became an expert beast tamer, granting him the nickname “The Beastmaster.” He had traveled to Isengard to aid Saruman in his service with Sauron. However, he was wounded from battle and from beast training and could no longer fight, having lost an eye, most of his fingers, and one leg. Instead, he was granted the role of beast tamer and warg riding trainer. He had been respected by many orcs, including Warg rider captain Sharku, and even Saruman himself.
Siege of Isengard[]
When the ents attacked Isengard, many orcs were killed and industry was destroyed. Radluk, his wargs, and many of his warg-riding students were killed in the Siege.
