Ragtag

Ragtag, real name unknown is a one-shot antagonist from the 2000 animated series, Static Shock serving as the main antagonist of the episode "Power Play." He was a homeless man affected by the Big Bang the same time as Madelyn Spaulding. Unlike other metahumans, Ragtag didn't have powers of his own, but instead he could give them to others by direct contact. The powers were temporary, and Ragtag would give them back, provided the user did him a few illegal favors.

Ragtag was voiced by the late Richard Libertini.

History[]

Static's friend Richie bumped into Ragtag, who granted him the ability to create energy infused forces of repelling. Calling himself Push, Ritchie began to be a superhero like Static. However, Richie's powers were temporary, and quickly found himself needing to find Ragtag again. Ragtag would agree to help, provided that Richie, along with Ragtag's two other clients, Run and Jump, steal from a museum. Seeing this as wrong, and realizing he became addicted to his new powers, Richie pulled the alarm, alerting Static. The teens quickly defeated Run and Jump, and went to confront Ragtag. Using his age, Ragtag feint being sick, knowing Static would come check on him. This gave Ragtag the opportunity to reveal he could also take metahuman powers away the same way he granted them. Using the last of his powers, Richie pushed Ragtag into a dumpster, stopping him.
