Dinosaur Warrior Raija is the first-born son of the Mother Melzard who serves as the war-leader of the Melzard Tribe and the secondary antagonist of B-Fighter Kabuto.
He is portrayed by Akira Ooka.
Biography[]
When the Melzard Tribe surfaced in the year 2005, ten years after the Jamahl's invasion, Raija and his siblings stood before Mother Melzard as she declared their invasion of the planet. When Mother Melzard gave birth to the Melzard Monster Elebammoth, Raija stepped up to lead the Melzard Tribe's initial attack. Taking Elebammoth, his assistant Miolra and a group of guards, Raija led an assault on the city to carve out a path for the Melzard Tribe's invasion. However, Elebammoth was destroyed by the new generation of B-Fighters created by Cosmo Academia.
Afterwards, Raija returned to Melzardos and Mother Melzard opted to allow his younger brother Dezzle to lead the next attack, birthing the Melzard Monster Zazanyoda to use for the Melzard Tribe's next attack. However, Dezzle would have little more luck in battling the B-Fighters.
When the eight Insect Medals fell to Earth, Molther Melzard sent both Raija and Dezzle to obtain the medals. Raija competed with his brother to gather the medals first in order to win Mother's favor, but both faced opposition from the B-Fighters. Mother Melzard would later send in Hebyusa to provide backup to her children, but the original B-Fighters appeared to reinforce their successors and together the two B-Fighter teams were able to destroy Hebyusa. However, this was part of Mother's plan as it allowed her venom to infect their B-Commanders.
As Mother Melzard had grown increasingly dissatisfied with Raija and Dezzle's performance against the B-Fighters, Raija had Miolra slice a piece of his skin off and combine it with the newly created Melzard Monster in a bid to regain her favor, resulting in the creation of Driceraija. After the two B-Fighter teams started fighting each other due to Hebyusa's venom, Raija took Miolra and Driceraija with him on an attack to wipe out both teams. Raija and his henchmen attacked the two teams after they detransformed to stop from fighting, but Guru was able to purify their B-Commanders of Hebyusa's venom so they could transform again. The two generations of B-Fighters then transformed once more and combined their powers to obliterate Driceraija. A furious Raija then charged at the B-Fighters to fight them all himself, but B-Fighter Kabuto stepped forward to battle Raija one-on-one. In a fierce standoff, Kabuto struck down and fatally wounded Raija. Before dying, Raija made sure Miolra delivered the four Insect Medals to Melzardos.
However, Raija and his brother Dezzle would soon be reborn from the darkness in new superpowered forms, with which they were able to overpower the B-Fighters on their initial sortie. Although they had competed with each other in the past, the two brothers put their rivalry aside and began collaborating on schemes to defeat the B-Fighters and take over the Earth, developing a new rivalry with the B-Crushers in the process.
Raija stood guard on Melzardos while Mother Melzard enacted her scheme to implant bombs in every human and use them to wipe humankind out. When the B-Fighters and New B-Fighters stormed onto Melzardos, Raija, Miolra and Descorpion battled them to keep them from stopping Melzard. However, while the Next Generation B-Fighters battled the three Melzard generals, the four New B-Fighters combined their power to destroy Mother Melzard's detonator, causing a chain reaction that downed Melzardos while the B-Fighters escaped with the New B-Fighters. However, Raija survived along with his kin and Mother, who emerged from the rubble of Melzardos as Jadow Mothera.
While Jadow Mothera rampaged, Raija, Miolra and Descorpion fought the B-Fighters to hold them off. After Kabuto killed Descorpion and Kuwaga broke off from the battle to fight Jadow Mothera in Kuwaga Titan, Raija fought Kabuto in one last battle and was struck down and killed by him.
