Rainn Delacourt is a major antagonist in Jurassic World: Dominion, the sixth installment in the Jurassic Park franchise and a minor antagonist in Season 3 of its 2024 spin-off Netflix animated TV Series, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. He is a poacher working for both Amber Clave Night Market and Biosyn.

He was portrayed by Scott Haze, who also portrayed Roland Treece in Venom.

Biography

Delacourt was first seen spying on Owen Grady while the latter captured a Parasaurolophus with his horse. He was on Owen and Claire's trail for both Beta and Maisie, and later succeeded to capture them while Owen and Claire were distracted.

After an enlonged chase, he was later caught by Owen, Claire, and Barry Sembène during their visit to the Black Market, where dinosaurs were being illegally sold. Delacourt was then caught by Owen and was chased by him and the FBI. He shoots two cages with his pistol, releasing a fully grown Carnotaurus and Allosaurus, which distracted Owen from the chase. Unfortunately for Delacourt, he was pushed into the Market's fighting pit, where a juvenile Baryonyx attempted to attack him, although the Baryonyx was barely unable to reach Delacourt due to being chained to a nearby wall.

However, a Lystrosaurus and a baby Carnotaurus already in the fighting pit bit Delacourt's hands and trapped him in place. Owen, having escaped from the larger theropods and entered the fighting pit himself, forced Delacourt to tell him where Beta and Maisie were, but Delacourt refused. This angered Owen, who left Delacourt to be killed. After Owen left, the juvenile Baryonyx finally broke free from the chain holding it to the wall, and lunged at Delacourt, mauling and tearing his face, thus delivering the final blow. It was later revealed that he gave away Beta and Maisie to Biosyn headquarters, where both were kept hostage.

Personality

While not much is known of Delacourt, he was shown to be a ruthless, vicious, violent, homicidal, and greedy assassin and poacher. Being the right-hand man and second-in-command of a criminal like Soyona Santos, and a minion of Lewis Dodgson as well, Delacourt would kill humans and dinosaurs alike without hesitation, and often takes delight in doing so. He also kidnapped Maisie Lockwood to bring her to Soyona, who can then hand the teenage girl over to Dodgson and his subordinate Henry Wu. In addition to his murderous and violent behavior, he was also shown to be a very petty man, preferring to die rather than tell Owen where Maisie is.

Trivia

• Rainn Delacourt is the sixth human villain in the franchise who tried to kill another human with his bare hands, predated by the novel version of Lewis Dodson, Billy Yoder, Eli Mills, Danny Nedermeyer and Soyona Santos. However, unlike Dodgson and Mills, Rainn wasn't successful.
• Rainn Delacourt is the only human villain in the franchise who's confirmed to be a physical match for Owen Grady, which implies he could've been a Navy soldier had he wasn't a criminal.
