Biography[]
Cartoon[]
Rampage was introduced along with the other Predacons in the five-part third season opener "Five Faces of Darkness". The group were sent to stop Blurr and Wheelie reaching Earth with Metroplex's transformation cog. They were ultimately defeated by Sky Lynx.
Rampage continued to make appearances among Galvatron's Decepticons throughout the third season, having featured roles in "Chaos" among those guarding the Decepticons' death crystal mining operation and in "Call of the Primitives" when they were among the animal-shaped Transformers summoned by Primacron. In "Nightmare Planet", Rampage and the other Predacons were sent after Rodimus Prime only to be caught up along with a group of Autobots in a dimension the Quintessons had fashioned from Daniel Witwicky's nightmares. After Razorclaw was captured, Rampage and the others reluctantly co-operated with Rodimus Prime and Ultra Magnus.
He made his last appearance in the two-part season finale "The Return of Optimus Prime", among the Decepticons on Chaar infected with the Hate Plague who attacked Optimus Prime and Galvatron. He was returned to normal when Optimus Prime unleashed the wisdom of the Matrix.
Marvel Comics[]
Rampage first appeared with the other Predacons in the Marvel UK story "Prey", where Megatron summoned them to Earth to help him track down Optimus Prime. However, the Predacons were secretly acting under orders from Shockwave and abandoned Megatron mid-battle, joining up with the Earth Decepticons for a short time.
This led into their debut in US Issue #25, where Shockwave had them attack Megatron disguised as Autobots. Although they were defeated, this led to Megatron's apparent death in a space bridge explosion. Rampage and the others remained on Earth full-time and were a key part of Ratbat's operation to trick the human intelligence group Triple I into executing the Throttlebots for them, culminating in them pursuing the Throttlebots, whose brain modules had been implanted in toy cars, through a shopping mall.
Rampage made his last appearance in mainstream continuity during the Underbase Saga, where he was among those deactivated by the Underbase-powered Starscream.
The post-movie version of Rampage appeared in "Space Pirates" among the Decepticons helping defend Cybertron from an invasion by the Quintessons.
He appeared in Marvel UK's Earthforce storyline, debuting in "Snow Joke" where he and Razorclaw had the misfortune to come across Grimlock just after he had fallen victim to a practical joke and become targets for his anger. Rampage was later part of the Enclave between Megatron and Shockwave's Decepticon factions, and was last seen as part of the large joint Decepticon force Soundwave led in a diversionary attack on the Autobot base.
