Ramuda Amemura is one of the main protagonists of the Japanese multimedia franchise Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle. He is the leader of the hip-hop group Fling Posse, which also consists of Gentaro Yumeno and Dice Arisugawa. However, Ramuda is also secretly aiding the Party of Words, the corrupt government system responsible for the creation of the titular weapon.
He was voiced by Yusuke Shirai in Japanese, who also voiced Combat Agent Six from Combatants Will Be Dispatched!.
Biography[]
At an unspecified point in time through unspecified means, Ramuda was cloned by Rei Amayado and given to the all-female government party, the Party of Words. After the third World War, Japan's government was taken over by the Party of Words. All weapons had been banned and replaced with Hypnosis Mics, special microphones that affect people's nervous systems without causing them any physical pain. From then on, conflicts would now be resolved with rap battles.
Eventually, Ramuda formed the hip-hop group, Kujaku Posse, alongside the doctor, Jakurai Jinguji. Later, they would recruit fellow rappers, Ichiro Yamada and Samatoki Aohitsugi (after Ramuda used brainwashing to break up their respective rap duos), forming the powerful hip-hop group The Dirty Dawg.
However, the group would then disband after a series of events, including Ramuda putting Jakurai's assistant and adoptive son, Yotsutsuji Kannabi into a coma to prevent him from revealing Ramuda's true nature to Jakurai. Additionally, Ramuda would use the True Hypnosis Mic to brainwash Samatoki's younger sister, Nemu into joining the Party of Words as well presumably aiding in the kidnapping of Ichiro's younger brothers, Jiro and Saburo. This would lead to a mutual animosity between Ichiro and Samatoki as the latter blames the former for his sister leaving him.
The Party of Words would then invent Divsion Rap Battles, where hip-hop groups representing a division of Japan would engage in rap battles in exchange for money and terroritory. Under the orders of the party, Ramuda would then recruit the author, Gentaro Yumeno as well as the gambler, Dice Arisugawa to form the Shibuya representing Hip-Hop group, Fling Posse.
Personality[]
Ramuda presents himself as incredibly childish and friendly towards practically everyone. However this is an actually all a façade. Ramuda is actually incredibly cold and calculating. It is shown that he actually increases the pitch of his voice when talking to others and his actual voice is much deeper. However, despite forming Fling Posse for pragmatism, Ramuda has shown to have some care for his fellow members. He has also started to despise the Party of Words due to the harsh treatment he faced from one of its members, Ichijiku Kadenokoji and expresses a desire to murder her.
