| ~ Rancid's catchphrase |
Rancid Rabbit is one of the two main antagonists alongside the Greaser Dogs of the Nickelodeon animated series CatDog. He’s one of the most recurring antagonists of the show and, despite this, often plays the anti-hero role in certain episodes.
He’s voiced by Billy West.
Appearance[]
Rancid is often depicted as a tall, green rabbit that wears a blue suit with black shoes and a small red bowtie. Rancid's other notable features are his tiny black eyes and his large pink nose. However, there are times in other episodes where Rancid wears different types of clothing depending what job/profession he has at the time.
Personality[]
True to his name, Rancid is a rather mean-spirited rabbit who craves money and power more than anything considering the majority of his jobs involves him being at a higher position of power (such as the manager of a taco restaurant or even being the president). Immensely prideful, covetous, cruel, and power-hungry, he often shows his greedy side whenever he has a chance to swindle CatDog or others out of money or something expensive, such as taking a television set CatDog recently won in a pie eating contest as payment for not affording his doctor bill.
In one episode, he refused to allow Cat and Dog in his taco restaurant simply because he didn’t like them (but also because Dog consumed the entire buffet due to taking the phrase "all you can eat" far too literally). However, Cat and Dog were eventually able to sneak in, and caused chaos in the process. Because of this, he got fired from his job and his employee, Dunlap who’s CatDog’s friend was much more sympathetic to CatDog was promoted to his job instead.
However despite this, Rancid is not without positive qualities, as there are times where Rancid is sympathetic towards CatDog. One of the best examples is when CatDog got fleas and when the came to him at the end of the episode completely covered in them, Rancid was genuinely shocked and concern for them and was quick to put them in a flea bath to get rid of the fleas, showing a kinder side to him.
