Randolfo the Tyrant is the main antagonist of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince. He is the father of Psaro and the first master of monsterkind.
He was voiced by Vincent Riotta.
Appearance[]
He is usually shrouded in shadows throughout the game and was only seen during the final battle.
History[]
Randolfo was once married to three people: An unnamed female monster, a human called Miriam, and a female elf named Elshael; each of which bore him a son: Dolph the Destroyer, Psaro, and Ludo, respectively. Time will pass and Miriam fell ill, and Randolfo murdered her through inaction, this persuaded her son Psaro to try to overthrow him.
However, Randolfo was too strong for Psaro to handle, and eventhough he decided to spare his son, he casted a curse on him that prevented him from harming monsters and banished him away from Nadiria. Upon the guidance of Monty the Monster Master, Psaro becomes a monster wrangler so he can work around the curse and make his father pay.
After he discovers Aamon is a traitor who was attempting to have him killed so that he can take over, he has Dolph execute him.
Randolfo is ultimately defeated by Psaro, which is when he shows some honor by removing the curse that prohibited him from harming monsters and allows him to take the throne. Psaro refuses it and even declines to deliver the last blow to him, much to his father's chagrin. The tyrant clamors his final desire that the throne may be occupied in the future by someone who shared his ideals. Randolfo then perishes, presumably from his injuries.
