Ranrog is a minor antagonist from Fantasy Wars, Elven Legacy:Siege. He was a dwarf noble, the commander of the dwarves of Tersh and Yanrock's right hand and advisor.
Biography[]
Rangrog was a dwarven noble who lived in the territory of Tersh and took part in a campaign led by his leader, Yanrock, to retake the dwarven lands from humans and elves, and to retaliate against them in the summer of 636 a. M. v. The first major enemy was a group of mercenaries who not only killed dwarven soldiers, but also captured and looted the castles of Melstrand and Notodden. Ranrog told his leader that a small part of their army would attack from the east and that they would not be able to escape due to the attacks coming from multiple directions, but Yanrock ordered to take a single prisoner to find out who hired the mercenaries and to kill the rest. The dwarves were quickly victorious and only one swordsman survived the fight, who told them that they had been hired by Laridian mages and elves, who were together. Yanrock then kill him with his hammer, and the army split in two, but Ranrog remained at his leader's side. Yanrock and his army attacked a village in the forest, while the other part of the army moved towards a nearby river. The dwarves captured the villages of Pesticci and Kolle, then the army united at the river and together they attacked the village of Orta, where many members of the cult were killed. After that, they continued towards the castke of Laterze, but suddenly a rain of fire hit the dwarves, Rangrog thought their gods were punishing them, but Yanrock reassured them that their opponents were obviously using dark magic and the solution was to kill them. The castle was captured, some humans were not harmed, but were chased away and the treasures taken, but anyone else who resisted was killed. After that, they clashed with the last forces of the cult, whose leader, a renegade mage was already waiting for the dwarves at a dark altar, but in the end Yanrock defeated him and all his followers were killed. The mage did not want to die, so he told them that they and the mercenaries had been hired by Sagittel, the leader of the outcast elves, to obtain the Stones of Foundation. Yanrock, however, considered him pitiful and unfit for salvation, and after he had spoken, he killed him and marched with his army to the east.
In the autumn of 636 a. M. v., Yanrock captured one of the castles of outcasts, which Sagittel had created with the Stones of Foundation, after which the forces of the Order of Ticsus and the Inquisition were noticed approaching. In Ranrog's eyes they were sacrilegious infidels and he was determined to kill them, but in the end he and the other fanatic dwarven nobles he led were killed in the fighting.
Personality[]
Compared to other dwarves, Rangrog was a very fanatical and religious person. He was intolerant againts the humans, arrogant and full of anger, and he believes that destructive spells are punishment from the dwarven gods. He was loyal to Yanrock and had strategic thinking, but he was not as talented as his leader.
