Ransuu Kihara is a minor antagonist in A Certain Magical Index: New Testament, serving as one of the main antagonists of the Baggage City Arc.
He is one of the members of the Kihara family sent as part of Academy City's forces to destroy Baggage City and the Natural Selector tournament. Described as a middle-low ranked member of the Kiharas, Ransuu is a researcher working on the development of chemicals that affect the brain. He specializes in manipulating emotions and creating illusions through the use of various chemicals and molds.
Appearance[]
Ransuu is a young man with a lean figure and has wavy blond hair. He is seen wearing a red and blue tracksuit that have small metallic nodes attached all around it with matching gloves, giving it a similar look to that of a motion capture suit. He also wears sunglasses. He is normally shown with a seemingly perpetual sneer and demeaning look on his face along with his beady eyes.
Personality[]
Ransuu is described as being the most sane Kihara to have appeared during the Baggage City attack. However, like his relatives, Ransuu is extremely sinister and has a natural affinity towards science and cruelty. Ransuu is also quite deceptive and cunning, which goes hand-in-hand with his powers, and is very pitiless and sadistic, having no qualms with killing a great number of people. He also prefers to toy with his opponent using his illusions before killing them, because he thinks that killing someone right away is too boring. This is best shown when he forced Weissland Strainikov to shoot either his wife, daughter, son-in-law, or two of his grandchildren, who were rigged with five guns. Weissland had to pick one to be shot, and Ransuu claimed only one gun was loaded, when in reality they all were.

Described as a middle-low ranked member of the Kiharas, Ransuu worked by observing people watching sports ceremonies and considering about those things.
Abilities[]
Illusions: Ransuu specializes in manipulating emotions and creating illusions through the use of various chemicals and molds. He takes tiny particles with the same effects as the chemicals secreted in the brain and scatters them on molds through the air, based on tech derived from one of the attempts to create a Mental Out FIVE_Over. He controls the molds with wind, temperature change, and static electricity signals (possibly sent by his smartphone); spreading them in the direction he wants and creating a safe zone for himself. The chemicals have names like Red Fury 03 or Blue Fear 07, and have to be combined in specific ways and amounts to create the illusion Ransuu wants, especially if he wants to affect several people at once. His usual fighting style is based on controlling emotions of a certain kind. For example, he can use a command like: "I don’t know why, but the door handle just feels strangely scary", which leads to the conclusion, "I don’t want to go out". He limits the target's movements like this, making them mindlessly stay in place before finishing them off with a knife or a gun. The complicated real illusions he creates to torture some people is something he does to pass time, as it's too boring to kill every enemy so early.
