Raoul is the overarching antagonist of DreamWorks' 23rd full-length animated feature film Puss in Boots, which is a spin-off of the Shrek franchise.
He is the one who reveals to Puss in Boots about the Magic Beanstalk. However, he secretly aids Humpty Alexander Dumpty in his scheme to get revenge against Puss.
He was voiced by Conrad Vernon, who also played Rumpelstiltskin and Headless Horseman from Shrek the Third, and also played Eugene Francis from The Boss Baby and Cartoonist in the English dubbed version of Bad Cat.
Biography[]
Raoul makes his debut when Puss in Boots enters the bar. At first he and the other men start laughing at Puss for being a cat until they realize who the cat is. Raoul and a bar thief try to trick Puss into getting killed, but instead Puss gets the bar thief surrendered and shaves half of Raoul's beard. Raoul and the other men in the bar then agree to tell Puss in Boots about the magic beanstalk, something Puss knew about before. Raoul tells Puss in Boots about the magic beans by showing drawings on his body, and that Puss has to get them from Jack and Jill. Puss then leaves to get the magic beans.
After Jack, Jill and Humpty successfully trick Puss, Raoul is seen laughing with them, holding a golden egg, revealing that he was also part of the scheme, too. Raoul is seen in a flashback where it is revealed Humpty was in the bar too.
Raoul is last seen in his bathtub playing with his rubber duck, when the Great Terror, the baby goose's mom sees the goose drawing on his back. Raoul is then attacked by the goose and is sent flying away.
It's unknown if Raoul has survived the fall or not, as he was never seen again in the movie.
