Biography[]
Raphael was presumably born and raised in the state of New York where he met Sandy Goldberg, the relationship was initially going well until Raphael discovered Sandy's betrayals with other men and sank into alcohol. Everything got worse when Sandy became pregnant with a boy they named Joe. Raphael frequently beat his wife and son until nine-year-old Joe decides to kill his father in order to save him and his mother from possible certain death at the hands of Raphael. But this had a major impact on Joe, since his mother gave him up to protect his name, and it caused Joe to have an immense fear of abandonment. This, him being bullied at the Home for Boys, him having a failed reunion with his mom, and the even worse abuse he endured when under the care of Ivan Mooney, this all led to Joe Goldberg becoming the serial killer he is today.
