| ~ Rapton to a Dragon Hunter |
Rapton is supporting antagonist in Ninjago: Dragons Rising, serving one of the 3 secondary antagonists (alongside Lord Ras and Dr. LaRow) of Season 1 and a minor antagonist in Seasons 2 and 3.
He is a former Dragon Hunter of Imperium who was formerly under the command of Lord Ras.
Rapton led the Claws of Imperium to capture dragons, including a baby dragon named Riyu, who escaped with help from Arin and Sora. After the ninja broke the dragons out, Rapton was promoted to take the disgraced Ras' position before learning of Dragon Cores, until he eventually stopped working for Beatrix, and helped the Resistance broadcast incriminating footage against her. After the MergeQuake Storm, Rapton was among many about plans to form a council.
He is voiced by Giles Panton, who also voiced Kalmaar in LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.
History[]
Rapton and the Imperium Claw Hunters were given the task of capturing a dragon named Riyu in order to set Lord Ras' master plan into action and exploit the dragon's energy. However, the following day, Riyu managed to escape to the Crossroads. It was at the Crossroads that Rapton and the Claw Hunters unexpectedly crossed paths with Arin and Sora. The two teenagers briefly came to Riyu's aid and successfully defeated the Claws of Imperium. Unfortunately, their victory was short-lived as Lord Ras himself arrived. He swiftly incapacitated Arin, Sora, and Riyu, commanding Rapton to take them away. In a thrilling confrontation atop a moving train, Rapton and the Claws engaged in a fierce battle against the ninja. Rapton and the Imperium Claw Hunters would later pursue the ninja and Riyu to the Land of the Three Mountains. Upon reaching their destination, Rapton was amazed to see the Dragon Matriarch. Eager to capture the mighty creature, he gave the command. While the Matriarch was briefly captured, she transferred some of her dragon power to Lloyd. With this newfound strength, Lloyd used his Spinjitzu skills to defeat Rapton and the Claws, foiling their plans once more.
Rapton's relentless pursuit of dragons across the Merged Realms continued unabated. A Photac had been instrumental in Rapton's capture of Jiro at the Crossroads. Empress Beatrix, however, had grander plans for the Photacs. She envisioned using them to track down every last dragon in existence. The only obstacle standing in her way was the need for Sora, the original creator of the Photacs, to activate the copied versions. Recognizing the importance of this task, Rapton was assigned the mission of capturing Sora on behalf of Dr. LaRow. But his responsibilities didn't end there. He was also entrusted with the duty of thwarting the dragon breakout orchestrated by Lloyd and Wyldfyre.
With the copied Photacs now activated, Rapton took charge of the Imperium Claw Hunters and mounted the devices as they engaged in a fierce battle against the dragons at the main gates of Imperium. Initially, victory was within their grasp. However, the other arrived at the Monastery of Imperium. The turn of events resulted in both the ninja and the dragons becoming trapped within the confines of the Monastery. As the Claws of Imperium relentlessly attempted to breach the monastery's defenses, hope seemed to dwindle. But just when all seemed lost, Lloyd, fueled by the power of the captured Source Dragon, managed to activate the portal gate. This allowed both the ninja and the dragons to escape, much to Rapton's chagrin as he realized his failure to prevent their getaway.
In the midst of Imperium's relentless pursuit of the Dragon Cores, Rapton's efforts to retrieve the Dragon Core from the Mother Garden were foiled when he was captured by the Muciods and subsequently incapacitated by the Administration Agents. These obstacles caused Rapton to question his loyalty to Beatrix and her cause, as he contemplated the potential devastation that would occur if Beatrix obtained the cores. Fueled by doubt and concern, Rapton secretly defected to the Resistance, a group of Imperians who opposed Beatrix after learning about her lies. In a bold move, he presented Beatrix with a counterfeit Dragon Core, aiming to thwart the activation of the MergeQuake weapon and hoping that Beatrix would relinquish her dangerous pursuit. However, much to Rapton's dismay, the counterfeit core proved to be a catastrophic failure, triggering a devastating explosion instead of fulfilling its intended purpose. This unforeseen turn of events only served to further fuel Beatrix's anger.
With the intention of creating a fourth Dragon Core, Beatrix had devised a plan for Jordana to utilize the captured Source Dragon. In response, Rapton and the Resistance devised a strategy to expose Beatrix's deceit by broadcasting the truth throughout Imperium. However, in order to execute their plan successfully, they required the assistance of Sora. Despite harboring a deep hatred for the ninja, Rapton reluctantly agreed to a temporary truce, acknowledging that their collaboration was necessary. As Beatrix's web of lies began to unravel, the fourth Dragon Core was successfully completed, leading to Beatrix initiating the creation of MergeQuakes.Rapton aligned himself with Nya, firmly declaring that they must bring Beatrix down like a dragon. Unfortunately, Beatrix managed to create a MergeQuake rift, which sucked in Rapton. However, after the MergeQuake Storm ended, Rapton and all those who were pulled into it returned unscathed. Following these events, Rapton joined forces with Percival and other Imperians, as they collectively aimed to forge a fresh start within New Imperium as a group.
Season 2[]
After the reformation of Imperium, Rapton's new job spent three days working as a shoulder pad consultant. However, he quickly discovered that this new position did not suit him. So he decided to go back to dragon hunting. Teaming up with the Claw Hunters, he rebranded the Claws of Imperium into the Freebooters, a band of mercenaries dedicated to tracking down dragons and profiting from their capture.
