Biography[]
Past[]
Eager to get revenge on Nicholas II and his family for his banishment, Rasputin sold his soul to the otherworldly forces of darkness in exchange for his reliquary which manifested green demons to do his bidding. They let in numerous Russian revolutionists to execute Nicholas and his family, except for Nicholas' mother Marie and his young daughter Anastasia. Rasputin attempts to murder Anastasia on a frozen river. Jumping from the bridge on the young girl onto thin ice, losing his amulet in the process. But the ice begins to break and Rasputin drowns (however ends up being trapped in limbo due to the curse being unfulfilled).
Present[]
Bartok held on to the reliquary for a decade and when it sensed Anastasia was still alive, it came back to life. It flew itself down to limbo (dragging Bartok along with it) and back to Rasputin. After Bartok told him Anastasia was still alive, Rasputin summoned his demons to go after her.
The demons played a role in Rasputin's attempts to kill Anastasia such as trying to crash the train she is on, and compelling her to jump off the boat to France during a storm.
At the climax, Anastasia manages to shatter the reliquary finally lifting the curse and turning the demons against Rasputin taking his life in full as reward for his repeated failures.
Powers and Abilities[]
The demons seem to be capable of magic. As seen they can create fire and ice. They are also able to merge to become giant. They can invade dreams to mesmerize people.
