Y'all are trespassing now. Illegally!
~ Rat.
Round these parts, we don't take kindness to cider poachers.
~ Rat.
Like... Melted Gold.
~ Rat's last words.

Rat is the secondary antagonist in the 2009 stop-motion animated film Fantastic Mr. Fox. He was Bean's security guard who guards the cider room.

He was voiced by Willem Dafoe, who also played John Geiger in Speed 2: Cruise Control, Norman Osborn in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films, J.G. Jopling in The Grand Budapest Hotel, Lord Cob in Tales from the Earthsea, Nikolai Diavolo in Everything or Nothing, Eric Masters in To Live and Die in L.A., Armando Barillo in Once Upon A Time in Mexico, George Deckert in xXx: State of the Union, Raven Shaddock in Streets of Fire, and Ryuk in the Netflix version of Death Note.

Apparently Rat and Fox met a long time ago, as they each say that the other has aged badly.

Fox and Rat put up a fight and succeeded in stealing's Bean's strong cider. Later, while Mrs. Fox and the other animals went looking for Kristofferson, Rat showed up again and attempted to kidnap Ash, but Mr. Fox arrived and fought him, and Rat was killed by getting electrocuted by an electric fence. As he lay dying, he told where the three farmers' hideout is, then he died.

He appears earlier in the movie than in the Roald Dahl novel. He also has a bigger role in the movie and plays a real antagonist while in the novel, he was a minor character.
