They fled by now, but I will haunt their nightmares for many days to come. I am the monster they will never escape. Everything fears me. Everything... except the rats.
~ The Rat King after his battle with the Ninja Turtles.

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003) the Rat King (who is never referred to as such and voiced by David Zen Mansley) appears in the episode "I, Monster", which is an adaptation of his first appearance in the Mirage Comics. Instead of dying like in the comics, the Rat King survives the fall into the silo after his fight with Leonardo.

Powers and abilities[]

Being a prototype super-soldier created from the DNA of various species including but not limited to Bishop, Splinter, and the Ninja Turtles, the Rat King's physical attributes are above average. He was strong enough to go up against the Turtles and endured being electrocuted and falling from a great height. He has an accelerated healing factor allowing his wounds to heal in a matter of seconds. As a result of him having combat knowledge uploaded into his brain by Bishop, he is a master hand-to-hand combatant and skilled enough to take on multiple opponents at once and even managed to take Raphael's sais from him in battle. He was able to become invisible, allowing him to perform sneak attacks on his opponents. It is assumed that this is a result of the technical components attached to his body (which where damaged after he was electrocuted), as he did not posses this power during his second encounter with the Turtles. He seems to be able to communicate or has some form on control over rats, likely as a result of Splinter's DNA being a part of his genetic code.
