| ~ Raul to Victoria after revealing true nature to publicity. |
Raul Evans (also spelled as "Raoul") is the titular main protagonist of the manga series Fukushuu O Koinegau Saikyou Yuusha (The Hero Who Seeks Revenge Shall Exterminate With Darkness).
Biography[]
Originally a simple villager from his hometown, known as Baden Village. Raul was chosen as a hero to fight against the Demon Lord and his forces. When his sister became pregnant, he found himself to be a would-be uncle. However, after defeating the enemy of the world, he was betrayed and killed by one of the series’ main antagonist, Princess Victoria (his archenemy, torturer and later victim). Including, as he would later discover, the part that his family and fellow countryman were in fact massacred alongside his birthplace being destroyed by the order of then unknown traitorous King Baltra many years ago. Until one month (a year in the light novel) later, he was revived by the Goddess of Love to get his revenge on the kingdom, its people, everyone who ever wronged him and humanity as a whole. He snuck back into the capitol where Victoria's wedding event was taking place. Causing all manner of mischief and mayhem from behind the scenes before openly humiliating and disrobing her in public. Killing treacherous self-indulgent priests, Gustalf in particular (who sold out his remaining family and indulged in gangraping his older sister with his fellow clerics at Wendell's instruction) and the self-proclaimed strongest man, General Ernst Brown (the murderer of his mother & kinsmen as well the one who destroyed both his childhood and particularly favored residence; Macaulay Village for which he was framed for) alongside the cannibalistic commandant's wife and two sons. Even going so far as destroying the Kingdom of Kurz's scientist division headed by Dr. Reene Beneke and her family (relations of Brown's wife) before his coming to yet another Villa of Nor, domesticated by highway robbers whom not only let die, but then violated the remains of, soldiers under the heroes command whom the abominable concoctions of said technician subjected them too. All before returning to the Kingdom's capitol to assassinate Victoria herself with her deceitful father soon to follow. While infiltrating the Kingdom of Kurz, he found the former knight commander, Sandra Divas (who was barely alive and naked after she has been severely tortured and physically violated by the princess and her soldiers) brainwashing her into killing the retainers of Victoria's father as well as some more of the castle guard.
In the end with the assistance of both the King and Saint Cristiana, he successfully exposed all of the most hated would-be future ruler's schemes and atrocities.
Eventually manipulating the Princess's former knight commander Dame Sandra (who was horrifically brutalized by her liege and her knights and later the local peasantry via stoning) once again into executing the treasonous imperial before the eyes of the entrapped citizenship. All while his falsified past crimes were cleared while Victoria's father and his former companion delivered the news of her revoked royal status.
With Victoria's death, he finally avenged his family and the people he swore to protect after they've lost their lives through the depraved peeress's cruelty. After Victoria is impaled by Sandra, the disgraced knight committing suicide herself soon after, Raul gives them both an undying enchantment. Dragging the former princess in front of the entrance gate to the Kingdom, where she is crucified right beside the remains of all whom the hero pursued in his quest for vengeance. Leaving the reviled Victoria be eaten alive by wild animals, crows & insects, just as the fiefdom did to him some time ago, after which (in the novel) he takes parts that are left of Victoria's body to his hiding place, keeping it in a little pot on his wall shelf, along with the remains of other people he avenged himself upon, like the beheaded Sandra Divas, the remaining bones of General Brown and the mummified Mad Scientist Dr. Beneke (except for Priest Gustalf whose corpse was burned in his church by Raul for murdering and gangraping his sister), thus ending his vengeful crusade against Victoria, but also acting as a prelude to beginning a new crusade, with Raul going to get revenge on Wendel, Cristiana, the citizens of the kingdom and lastly the King alongside said debauched capital which he ruled.
In the meantime Raul would entertain himself through the ailing monarch's indulgence. Enjoying a bloody bacchanal at the colosseum where the deceased General Brown's men, responsible for committing atrocities in his name, were viscously skinned and disemboweled by the executioners at the Dark Heroes behest.
He would later receive orders from his majesty to make his presence known within the throne hall. Seeking to push Raul's quest against his treacherous ex-companion Wendell and his cohort in a demon trafficking's ring that recently came to the kings attention, Cameron Allingham. A depraved sexual deviant who indulges in violating new wears while his men begat immense cruelty to demon child slaves. He and Raul have a mildly intense converse about whether or not the assailant needed orders to deal with them, as well as an impostor wearing the face of the former Hero to aid in, their schemes. But Raul simply turned and left while internally ruminating about how he was aware of everything from the start. Throwing a mild intimidation glare with a small surge of dark power at his majesty which frightens the sickly regal.
Raul soon catches up to his imitator while they're puking out of disgust in the lavatory. He soon undoes her magical guise and the two privately converse within the expense of the mind.
Where he indulges his curiosity by accurately guessing the imitator masquerading around as him did so in order to grab the real hero's attention. Evans revealing his cheap imitations real identity as Ada Taylor while continually probing into her reasons for wanting revenge when Allingham killed her father, Charles Taylor.
Sympathizing with her motives, Raul jovially pronounces his own deranged philosophy about how revenge must be savored and held close to the heart when Ada expectedly calls him out on his own depravity while reveling in her therapy grade trauma. While they ruminate on how to do away with, they're targets, Raul says the best way to deal with that scoundrel Archmage is to slap him with a mental attack that undermines his vanity and confidence. Seeing as Allingham has no real fighting ability of his own.
Having contemplated enough in the mindscape, Raul begins enforcing their plan by absorbing Ada's consciousness into his body. The two now sharing a single vessel for the remainder of their escapade against Wendel and Allingham with Raul playing backseat driver while Ms. Taylor's anima is dominant.
Until the two are properly disposed of, Raul would act as her guide on how to move and act as well as in using his powers while she is in control. His first instruction being to bar the bathroom withholding Ada's comatose body with magic. So as to prevent anybody from coming upon it by accident. The two eventually come across a hall where slavers are seen brutalizing innocent demon children. Ada is hesitant to get involved but Raul manages to convince her that it was their fault her father (Charles Taylor) was murdered when trying to expose the depraved noble he worked for. Making them targets for her revenge as well as the Hero's. The pair set about dispatching them all in Raul's typically ruthless fashion whilst freeing the child demon slaves whom they were cruelly belting for sport. Raul took the reins from Ada for a time to rally their new followers against their shared foe. Due to his partner in crime suffering a breakdown due to indulging in her first mass murder. Raul/Ada make their way to the main hall where Allingham and Wendell await with their small band of demon slaves in tow. The Archmage boastfully argues that the Raul they've been affiliated with for so long was a fake whom Wendell had seen through from the start. But his bravado is quickly overturned when the assailant flashes his power in magnanimous fashion to prove his authenticity.
After a brief trip down memory lane; revealing just how slimy and conniving the bastard sorcerer well and truly was to him from childhood to adulthood. Raul would take Wendell, Allingham, the noble that Wendell worked for, as well as the demon children (who were tortured and sexually harassed by Allingham) and teleport them all to a recreation of the capital's colosseum. Giving his hated ex-best friend a front row seat to Allingham's execution whilst offering the five demon kids (2 demon boys and 3 demon girls) the opportunity to inflict great pain upon the sleazy noble by using spiky brushes and cold water on him for what he did to them.
One amongst the demonic audience tells Raul that Allingham often stripped some of the younger of their number and painfully scrubbed them with cold water, the rest of the crowd demanding the same of Allingham in agreement. As the malignant aristocrat begged for mercy whilst being stripped naked in front of everyone whom mocked and jeered at him. Ada, in the driver seat of Raul, recounted how her host had encountered similar slime-mold's whom preached the same pathetic blubbering's while pleading innocence. Only for him to butcher and violate their mortal remains in a similar manner as to when the corrupt clergy took turns gangraping his childbearing sister.
When another demon boy brought up how he had castrated all the male demons, the enclave resounded in agreement to his being castrated in return.
Ada/Raul then conjures up a spike ringed an hole with intent to pressure Cameron's agony. Raul then captured the traitorous bastard, Wendell when he tried to escape only for Raul to easily catch up to him and take him back to the coliseum. As the Archmage attempts to fight back while pleading the case of his innocence in regards to the mistreatment of the demon kin. Raul retorts that his "eye for an eye" guideline was merely a means to bait the trap so Raul could catch his jerkass. After unleashing a mighty spell upon the former hero whilst boasting of his supremacy, Raul nonchalantly laughs off his most powerful arcana before siphoning away all of Wendell's magical power; much to the horror of the latter.
On that note, Raul immediately set about stripping him naked and began to rake him with a giant spiked brush shortly afterwards. When the women pleaded to Raul as why he tormented Wendel so, Mr. Evans revealed the ugly truth about his despicable acquaintance pertaining to when he would dispose of women he'd often bedded and bred by imparting his impregnated flings to Allingham. Whom then passed them off to some of the sleazier nobility Wendell had kept in contact with as viable playthings before having them disposed of. A little demon girl recalled some of the cadavers being dispatched had been that of a women's remains, and another of the demon boys remembered they all looked horrific; both expression wise and in physical state. Wendel's former backers leaving, having flat out deserted the treacherous charlatan to cover their own hides now that the game was up, citing him as another rotten coward to wash their hands of the whole affair. The women whom once all fawned over the unspeakable cad and demon children whom the man he betrayed had rescued all angrily announced to Raul of castrating Wendel as well. The latter summoning a grim reaper brandishing giant ornate scissors while conjuring a bucket filled with Allingham's blood, entrails and physiological waste to kill him with. The former hero proclaiming he would spare Wendell the castration if he could keep his head dunked in the buckets contents for more than three seconds. After a while Raul gets board and feminizes his bastard of a friend himself, regardless of the conditions he set and thus ending the first death count for the disgraced Archduke. It was just an illusion however.
For after Wendell next awakens, Raul shows him a book of Wendel's death counts. Nextly he summoned apparitions of the dead priests (including head priest Gustalf) who were killed by Raul (for violating his only sibling) and stabbed Wendel through his anus with a mace. Still another illusion and showing another of Wendel's death count. Raul gives his book of Wendel's death counts to Ada for her to see. He summoned Ms. Taylor into a small toy-like appearance for her to witness Wendel's death counts. Raul kills Wendel with throwing knives. Still yet another illusion and another death count page. Raul would go onto say that if Wendell managed to break the illusions hold and escape his cycle of faux torment, he'd be free of the marry-go round of punishment. Something Ada wasn't too happy with, especially, as if jinxing it. Wondering aloud what would happen if he'd managed to meet the conditions to break away from Raul's hold. Which the traitorous shmuck did shortly afterwards.
All of which being in vein of coarse. As the Dark Hero blatantly lied about the escape clause set up just to run his dastard of a rival ragged for all the atrocities he'd put his through. Revealing to his partner Ada that there in fact was no feasible way for said lowlife to ever escape the illusion. Only offering that misleading tidbit just to further screw over his psychological state. The last illusion Raul & Ada partook of Wendell's suffering being a slap from the past, consisting of their shared childhood wherein Wendell was the one being bullied by some kids whom he'd paid to pick on Evans all so as to come off as a willing helping hand in order to get in his good graces and sponge off Raul's merit as the future hero. Only the roles would be reversed as Wendell is the one being cruelly mocked and picked on by said pukes who he hired out and a younger Mr. Evans would come to his rescue instead. Only to reveal his true intentions with a demonic grin and blackened eyes staring straight into the now demoralized bastard wizard's broken soul. Reminding him of how his greatest sin of treachery at an incredibly young age had now come full circle before his taking the hand of the friend he betrayed ends in a very grizzly eradication of the reviled lout whom would be king. Back in the real world, Raul would move the now comatose remains of the braindead scoundrel whom was his former friend. But he is temporarily stopped by the demon kids whom also wished to see the one whom aided in their slavers antics be punished unceremoniously. But the hero reminded him that they needed his help in order to see justice on their behalf done. Stating that they already got their due penance on the target of their choosing and should be satisfied with having had whilst find something else to do with their time. Although not necessarily happy about that, they agree with his statement and opt to find their own path to freedom. Something which pleases Ms. Tylor, whom still remains within his anima.
Having remembered that their business is now concluded. Raul moves to disengage the mind meld with his accomplice, stabbing himself through the heart and depositing Ada back into her own body once more. But just as he's about to head out. Raul Evans finds himself held back at knife point by the same woman whom he'd taken along in their shared crusade against the slavers.
"Ada Tylor" revealing all along that the true focus of her hateful vendetta was actually the hero himself and not his former aid. Raul however calmly disarms her, throwing the now deadweight deadbeat slung over his shoulder at her, before binding Ada in powerful magic runes. He rather nonchalantly states her intentions were plain as day to him, seeing as they shared a headspace and all. Having already deduced her true identity from the get go; but preferred to let her reveal it to him of her own accord. To which his would-be assailant dropped her disguise and revealed her true identify. That of Princess Theodora, sister to the late Demon Lord whom Raul slew in his prior campaign. Theodora tries to kill Raul but only to stab Wendel. Raul effortless defeated the princess. He wish he could kill her, but he offer the key to Cameron's treasury for money to rebuild their homeland and make a fresh start for their lives. Raul released her from his binds and told her even if she and her people were free, they have no place to live as their home without money. He also asked Theodora that did she kill Ada Taylor and impersonated. The princess replied the Hero that she didn't kill Ada when revealing Ms. Taylor once saved her life, Raul continued listening of Theodora's story of how both Charles Taylor and his daughter, Ada once saved her life after the death of her elder sister. He also learned Ada Taylor as well her mother and sister were killed by Raul's treacherous best friend Wendel when the latter impaled her heart with his bare hand. When telling Theodora to make a decision, the Demon Princess chose the key to Cameron's treasury to take good care of her own life. Raul gladly giving her the key and thanked her for helping him to exact his revenge on his treacherous former comrade. 2 months later, the angry citizens began the trial on Saintess Cristina Alcott.
He later returned to the castle and informed the King of Wendel's death. He secretly lied to the King that he incinerated the demon children (in truth, he let them go). He later was assigned by the King to dispose Saintess Cristina due to her magic on Victoria was discovered by the angry citizens. Raul went to the dungeon to see Cristina only to see her naked in her unconditional statement.
Raul already knows that Cristina is responsible for his misery when she cast the spell to brainwash his false friends. He revealed that he removed the light magic to bind anyone's lust for Cristina. In the trial of Ms. Alcott, he brought the devoured-yet-alive naked Victoria in Cristina's as proof of conviction. He witnessed Cristina's execution when she was sentenced to death by burn into a stake. Raul added the burnt Cristina to his collections of his victims. Unfortunately, Princess Theodora fired a light magic imbued arrow at Raul when she still wants to get revenge on Raul for murdering her older sister, the Demon Lord. Raul dared Theodora kill him. She declared he will not get an ordinary death as she is planning to execute him just like Victoria once did. The demon princess stabbed Raul with a light magic imbued dagger when she angrily revealed to Raul that her sister was only protecting their kingdom and people as well, she declared her people were only to live normally. The animals starting to devour Raul and Theodora will watch until Raul's last breath. 5 days later, Theodora shattered her tears even though she finally killed Raul when she thought she would be liberated from her suffering, but instead she still feels empty and pain were seeing the dissected Raul.
After his engineered death at the hands of Princess Theodora as her own revenge on him for the murder of her elder sister, the Demon Lord, Raul returned to the interspace between life and death for heroes after he expired. He acknowledged the Demon Princess and said that she did a good job. He reunited with his perverse benefactor and would-be love interest, the detested Goddess of Love, to find and get even with Christiana in the afterlife.
After some time and another sacrifice by the goddess, Raul heads out towards the Gate of Judgement, where mortal souls await their placement in the various other realms. Meeting back up Ms. Alcott as she awaited her turn, he hurriedly pushed her onto the chariot the goddess above conjured up to escort him and his quarry to the realm of Hell. Raul would strike a bargain with the depraved holy woman, stating if there were people down there whom her salvation didn't redeem, he would be free to do to her as he wished. On the other hand, if those she hexed to their ruin weren't there, then Raul would give himself to her feted mercies instead. While on their way to the deepest pits, Raul would reminisce with Christiana about how the hero's party recruited a bunch of Ernst mercenaries who were ready and willing to fight the good fight against the Demon Lord back in the hero days.
But many fell off the bandwagon individually when she came onto the scene. To the Dark Hero's silent fury, he would later discover the bent-minded saintess had a hand in their gradual disappearance. Culminating the nonsense that her warped ideal of salvation was both a boon and punishment to those who weren't thankful to the petty gods for giving them life, he soon takes silent joy in revealing the fact that Cristiana's salvation condemned those soldiers after she inflated their lusts before ordering them to commit suicide afterward.
While passing the ring of lustful sinners, where Raul's mercenary team now rots because of her actions, they take off towards the other rings of Hell, passing by countless people who Cristiana's machinations had undone. Until they eventually reach the Greed Ring, where the most personal sinners to the faux holy maiden reside. They come across Cristiana's parents, those whom she'd made attack and kill all her ney-sayers before ordering them to willfully immolation. Raul revels in the dawning revelation that none of whom the witch is playing at being holy ever reached the land of Nirvana. Instead, they were all dragged down to eternally rot and die; the fact that her parents were the first people to fall to her crimes in hindsight, being there, was almost more than she could bear. As the fallen saintess brings up how she'd done everything in the name of her patron divinity, Rul brings up the same deity she was so devout to. The god in question was none other than the Goddess of Love. The one who currently stood in Raul's baneful thrall made odd faces as he brought up a magical memory recall.
Cristiana immediately rebukes it, revoking the idea that she would be repulsively uncouth. But when she cannot use her holy magic to lash out, Raul jokingly muses that she has no power in the burning void. Even the goddess is frightened of such a place and rescinds her influence on that place.
He soon goes on to further dismantle her inflated sense of personal value by admitting how the trial held against her in the living world wasn't or shouldn't have been as cut-n-dry as it was if her being such an exalted being were indeed the case. He further twists the knife by instituting such a person who exasperates people's need to indulge in their most selfish and amoral depravities while calling it salvation even really exists. Given how heinous the people around them become because of it, how righteous that is is questionable in and of itself—going so far as to guise himself in her likeness and mockingly throwing her words at the execution back at her as her garbe burns away while citing her a pitiful fool.
Things take a more drastic turn when all the souls she condemned through her heinous self-righteousness rise out of the lava pit to claim her for past sins.
While vacating the carriage the goddess had made for him, Raul mentions to Cristiana that she's already damned like the rest of her congregation. Something which happened when she was so quickly taken through the gate to Hell back at the purgatory waystation, revealing she already had little to no hope of emancipation. As the failed saintess begs Raul for help, the hero offers Cristiana one final chance at her own absolution. Dropping down a length of chain for her to pull herself up and out of the muck of damned fools she was surrounded by.
But when her selfishness and cruel nature finally bubbled to a fever pitch, the bind links snapped and fell away—ultimately condemning Cristiana to a lifetime of Hell. After correctly disposing of his former compatriot turned hated enemy, Raul soon returns to the entryway where he started his Journey.
He soon finds there is merit in what the goddess told him about mortal souls not being allowed to leave once they have passed into their domain. To him, this was perfect, as he now had reason to begin his new vengeance upon the Gods who discarded him. His aid in this hellish escapade soon appears in the underworld after reaching where the gate had been. Raul inquires about a means of executing the dastard god who rules said domain when she brings up how he so detests and despises humans enough to completely ignore anything they have to say. When she refuses, he molests and brutally removes the Goddess of Love's heart, though he is surprised to find there is a smidge of truth to the god's immortality as even after such an experience, she cannot die.
After sifting through the memories of the goddess from her displaced pumping organ, Raul spots the chortling & giggling council of deities laughing as they debate over his salvation or discarding. Shutting out the cacophony of petty supremacies, he delves further into the reverie in search of the key to his release and a means of crucifying another of his revenge targets, a ritual weapon made to slay deities.
With a clear idea of the secret weapon needed to exact his rage against the heavens, he pushes the mutilated fallen goddess to fetch it for her beloved while confronting the fickle god who forsook him. But as the Goddess of Love departed Hell to get the God Killing Sickle, her chariot made for him to carry Critiana to her well-earned destination disappears. He is soon preyed upon by a black mass resembling scores of fluttering crows. It's made evident that the collective set to meet him is the Fallen Angels of Hell, subservient to said domain's lord. They initially try to coerce him into going with them to face judgment at their master's hand, but Raul rebukes them in his usual playful manner. Shattering the head of one, flash melting another who confronts him, even going so far as to petrify the battalion leader without much trouble. This petrifies the hellish angels with fear, as no mortal human who possessed this kind of power to resist them to such an extent had ever appeared in Hell before. But, the Hero would politely comply with their demands provided they are gentler when escorting him. They still put up some resistance to this request, and Raul disintegrated the one who spoke the loudest in response; they were at a loss of what to do next, seeing as they were no match for Raul yet feared the wrath of their infernal overlord should they displease him. As stated previously, however, Raul only wants to be treated with more care while being taken to the deity who rules this place. After much ruminating, they decided their orders were to escort the sinner in question, not necessarily confront him. They agree to his terms and take him to the Hell King's palace.
On the way, Raul muses how foolish it was for mankind to worship the gods even when they created such a horrible place as he's flying overhead in purveyance. He finds it a high irony that such beings seen as kind and benevolent also created the humans, the aforementioned hell god hates.
Arriving at the ruler's stronghold, Raul notices the decour leaves much to be desired. He questioned whether or not the angels who ferried him particularly cared for his taste in aesthetics even as they verbally rebuffed him for it. Then, a tremor is felt all around the hallway they're standing in. Raul's escorts tremble at the realization that they have angered their deity with tardiness and hurry Raul into his chamber. The Dark hero finds annoyance in this due to the hall being too long for expedient meeting arrivals. But his mood changes when faced with the individual he was ordered to meet.
During the poorly jotted cases of crimes the selfish divinity levied against him, Raul abruptly corrects the demonic minion citing his crimes, saying he didn't come to be talked down to, but to get down to business. While said lackey is annoyed at his impertinence, the God of Hell agrees with his statement but also says that just getting to it isn't stimulating enough.
When the spirits of all the former marks of his vengeance had been brought before him, Raul laughed to himself as the small fries, so designated by the infernal deity, cowered in fear both of his presence and at the suddenness of their current relocation, but soon finds sudden discontent as the haughty god outright obliterates the recently condemned Cristiana Alcott's soul right before his eyes. The idea behind this is to irk one who worked so hard to grill such useless wastes of space in life.
The now subtly irate Hero gives fair warning to his less than unconscionable guest, telling him there will be consequences to his next poor decision if he goes through with it. Naturally, the deity chuffs such claims, still underestimating the storm set in his way, soon preparing to erase another soul Raul sent his way.
But Raul soon preempts that, sparing the worthlessness of Lukas Eckart of being released from his torment when he asks for it. Therefore, the baneful divinity he's challenging for the souls of his fallen enemies prompts a little wager. The lord of pandemonium opts to challenge Raul with a time-paced event if the Hero can overcome whatever challenges his eminence placates before his enemies' spirits petrify and ultimately deteriorate, as Cristiana's had done. He'll have won, and they'll retain their entrapment. The Dark Hero gladly accepts those terms, first facing off against the Cerberec-like minion who was listing his crimes not too long ago. But it is soon made quickly evident that the demonic entity in question is no match for his Black Magic and is soon torn asunder in rapacious fashion. The Hero makes a subtle jab at his infernal majesties competence level when asking if the Cerberus out in the Lust Ring of Hell would've been a better bodyguard than the whipped mutt he had acting on his behalf. Or if the watered-down version of the legendary beast was all he could handle in the least.
Now truly enraged, the God of Hell revealed his titanic form and began a new challenge for the Dark Hero as he outgrew his own castle crushing many of his attendents under foot. Issuing a game of tag in which the evil deity would seek out those under Raul's defense while the adversary opted to protect them from his advance.
Acting fast, Hero Raul teleports everyone away a sizable distance to preempt his competitor after the gigantic entity smashes the platform they were all standing on.
When asked by Ekart about what happened to everyone, Raul merely states he saw something displeasing and now seeks to get back what he lost in hindsight. As to why he was the only one bound by his Dark Magic, Lucas's savior/captor mentions he hasn't been punished enough and now opts to make sure he stands and faces his judgment. Raul finds the god has lain his single eye on Dame Sandra of all people and casts Illusion Magic to snare her.
But the Hero scoffs since the idiot divinity used a tactic that doesn't suit a buttkisser of her caliber's warped mindset at all. Pitching his own Illusion of the hated Princess Victoria to her was more in line with his victim's derangement and entitlement, which Sandra is more familiar with. One that easily wins her over.
Raul's mirage of Victoria handing the failed knight a sword for slicing the more benign iteration of her doppelganger clean in half before trailing her off into the woods afterward.
The former Hero nonchalantly chats with his bound former adversary about planning ahead to enact revenge like he had done when first doing away with Lucas and others. Raul slyly waits for the right moment to enact his plan while the God of Hell searches for another of his doomed targets. But the Former Hero had anticipated that in advance, prepping the murderous scientist, Doctor Rinne Beneke, to concoct transformative potions for General Brown to use as the God of Hell zeroes in on him.
Ekart is astonished at how the now berserker Brown could easily topple the colossus who was pinning and slamming him against rocks like a stag beetle until now. The hateful supreme being finally loses his patience and readies to unmake his kingdom in a blind rage. Raul himself gets set to spring the trap he'd been preparing.
Initiating a spell that would stop the petty divinity from erasing his territory and all of them along with it.
To which, Raul would initiate Illusion Magic to enrapture the hotheaded god's mind in an endless battlefield that would steadily drain his physical stamina and mental fortitude. Eventually, the once pompous, now burned-out divinity had lost all his stamina and was left on one knee. Raul would confirm his exhaustion by drop-kicking the tired and weary god square in his face to test it. He takes the time to rub in his face, whilst gids are essentially tireless and only fit for bodily exertion; psychology is another story with this pointed facet now dawning on him. The God of Hell would opt to rescind his game if Raul were to negotiate with him—something the former Hero would gladly consent to in exchange for having it in writing.
Appearance[]
Raul is about 178 cm tall and weighs around 64-68 kg. His date of birth is April 13.
Personality[]
Originally, Raul was a weak-minded yet kindhearted young man. Having been once loyal to the kingdom and willingly put life & limb on the line to protect those he cared about. Until after defeating the demon lord, he faced abject misery whence upon he was betrayed, tortured and executed by the machinations plotted by the corrupt Princess Victoria. The former hero deeply cared for his family and everyone from Macaulay villa whom accepted him with open arms until it was devastated, unbeknownst to him at the time; by both General Brown, the Knight Captain Sandra, his former contemporary the Archmage and all under the order of one tyrannical heiress, Victoria. Whom was coaxed into it by the Saintess Christiana.
Following his revival by the Goddess of Love, Evans became borderline misanthropically vengeful. Devolving into a sadomanaical, psychotic and coldblooded butcher who exacts cruel and ironic punishments on all who've crossed him. He enjoys torturing his victims until they die. He doesn't care about helping those who doubted him, he simply manipulates them to do his bidding. The dark hero abhors the Kingdom of Kurz and those who caused misfortune towards him and/or others related to him by killing his family and destroying his home when its demonstrated as Raul is planning to kill them all as he murdered many of the kingdom's knights, General Brown, Brown's family, Priest Gustalf and the rest of his synagogue, the Kingdom's scientists, his old adventuring buddies and even archfoe, Princess Victoria. He is also emotionally & psychologically intelligent when goading the Knight; Dame Sandra, into exposing the truth behind Victoria's true rotten nature. He is very cruel towards his enemies who were falsely masquerading as his allies, such as when he mocked General Brown (the destroyer of Baden village and the murderer of his mother and clansmen) to be so weak and later laughed at Victoria's humiliating breakdown when her father had barred her as heiress to the throne; disowning her as his daughter after the revived heroes rampage cost his kingdom so dearly, eliminating a few of the king's most trusted confidantes and tricking her former right hand into massacring's his attendants and the Ruler of Kurz ordering Saint Cristiana to clear Raul's name and depose Victoria. He doesn't have any interests of bargains (such as money, nobilities or women) from those deemed enemies whom begged him to spare their lives such as Gustalf (who participated in the gangrape of his sister).
Raul is also shown to be somewhat lecherous and perverted, as he enjoyed indulging in slight sexual harassments towards women. As shown when he joyfully and sadistically disrobed his archenemy, Princess Victoria by shredding away her red dress leaving her naked before badly damaging her womb at her wedding events in Chapter 2-4. Later still hanging the mutilated remains of his former mentor's wife at a tree in Chapter 8. Despite this however, he remains a celibate individual before dying and reviving as the laughing mad punisher exacting retribution upon his tormentors and betrayers. Indicated by his blatant disdain for the sleazy royal whom ordered his sisters murder once upon his return; citing in the novel that the princess looked to him as if a disgusting sow unworthy of praise after shredding apart her wardrobe. Raul doesn't even flinch when staring down the barely alive ex-knight commander, Sandra Divas (who is severely agonized and naked of being excessively violated by Victoria and her soldiers both physically and sexually) after returning to the Kingdom to assassinate the hated princess. After Cristiana Alcott, he raped the Goddess of Love and removed her heart just so he will have revenge upon the gods.
When Sandra called him a coward for not fighting honorably, Raul took great offense to such claims as he revealed himself to be honorable (in spite of his unstable actions) when he reminded her that she captured him in a fairly dishonorable fashion, showing to be easily enraged by things such as hypocrisy and incoherence. And all for the morally bankrupt whim of a spoiled aristocrat no-less, which made Sandra herself the coward. While full of rage he is still polite and playful. When the King ordered Saint Cristiana to clear Raul's name and gave him leave to dispose of said wayward offspring, Princess Victoria (which shares in common to Raul's intention), he politely asked Cristiana to show evidence which confirmed her being conveyed such orders from her monarch to dispatch Victoria; whom in return thanked Raul for reminding her. He will not let anyone get away with their crimes and enjoy their happy life as he is willing to help those whom wanted revenge when they've also suffered by those that worked under the selfish and most hated of individuals, similarly to himself, as he helped Ada Taylor and the innocent demon children (who suffered, had been tortured and (only for demon girls) raped at Allingham's hands) to kill the morally depraved noble himself in their desires for revenge. Revealing to the nobles and the feminine fans in the illusory realm the hero had conjured; whom were all Wendel's associates of his intentions and or groupies that fawned over him, Raul tells them of his disposable former compatriot that he would often kill off the flings Wendell would impregnate by feeding them to Allingham. Who would then pawn them off to his aristocratic entourage whom often played with them until they broke and then were disposed of by the demon slaves. Raul revealed to Theodora that he is kind to those who wants vengeance just like him. He is willing to offer the demon princess the key of Cameron Allingham's treasury for her and her subjects to rebuild their home and make a fresh start of their lives. After realizing of Princess Theodora's tragedy similar to him, he painfully understand the demon princess. When Princess Theodora chose to the key to Allington's treasury, Raul is glad of her decision as well thanking her for helping him exacting his revenge on his treacherous best friend, Wendel. He lied to the King that he burned the demon children at Allingham's palace (in truth, he set the demon kids free because they are only poor and innocent). Raul dares Theodora to kill him if she wants to avenge her sister. After he died at Princess Theodora's hands for her vengeance upon him of murdering her older sister, the Demon Lord, he doesn't seem to hold a grudge on Theodora when he appreciate the demon princess for killing him just so he could get even with Cristiana.
He will often also brainwash his victims to use them against his enemies, demonstrating this when he manipulated the former knight commander, Sandra Divas (who has been tortured and raped by Victoria and her former subordinates) into killing her fathers retainers, even the part of killing Victoria herself where Raul finally avenged his family and the people from his past who all suffered through the royal family's tyranny. He is also merciless in that he doesn't hesitate to kill his enemies even when they are trying to beg and forgive him such as a scientist whom developed mutagens that turned people into hideous berserkers. On behalf of the King (Victoria's father) and Saint Cristiana, Raul is also pleasured as he will finally avenge his family and those he cared for whom died at the hands of Victoria's unjust rule by executing the crazed lunatic princess when aiding the then brutalized and insane Sandra to impale her to death with a sword (before he revived Victoria and took her to the same area to feed her to the wild animals similar what she did to him).
Powers and Abilities[]
- Supernatural Strength: After being revived by the Goddess of love, Raul possesses supernatural strength, despite being only a human, due to his special resurrection, allowing him to easily overpower his enemies. Having demonstrated it when he easily decapitated a soldier barehanded once upon returning to the Kurtz Kingdom after his second resurrection to besting General Brown in brute strength and later butchering him. He can easily block Princess Theodora's dagger with his bare teeth.
- Supernatural Mobility: Raul possesses supernatural mobility that was demonstrated when he easily sliced off the heads of Victoria's knights swiftly. In his fight with General Brown (the murderer of Raul's mother and cousins as well the mastermind who destroyed his hometown, Baden Village), Raul is quick enough to easily dodge Brown's attacks that were puny and speed that was sluggish when he couldn't catch up to Raul's speed.
- Supernatural Stamina: Evans has an incredible amount of physical staying power. Able to go for months without tiring out while on his long trek across the depraved domain of Kru, even with an execution cross and while dragging the severely agonized Victoria.
- Modifiable Immortality: Due to his pact with the Goddess of Love and thanks in part to his dark arcana, Raul possesses an odd form of immortality. Being able prevent his own death in any eventualities unless he wishes it to affect him, meaning he cannot be harmed by mortal means and doesn't feel pain in the typical sense. Such as from the knights' swords impaling his organs, heart and spinal column. Even the highest of upper tier magics; like that of his hack Archmage contemporary, Wendell. Has little to no effect either when it didn't even singe his curtails in the slightest. However, this immortality doesn't truly hold the means in which Raul can never die. As being an entity of dark magic means such a facility's only real weakness, is Holy Magic. Such as being shot with a sacred power imbued arrow and impaled with a similarly endowed dagger by the vengeful Princess Theodora (the younger sister of the Demon Lord).
- Dark Magic: Once upon being revived by the Goddess, Raul was able to access his original powerset from before when he became the Hero of the Kingdom. It was one of the requests made to the deity who revived him in order to seek out and mete his passion for revenge upon everyone in the realm of Kurz. Hero Raul is very adept at manipulating his dark powers for a plethora of ingenuities and effects, the application range so far being only limited by his own twisted imagination.
- Physical Augmentation: Raul found (in the novel) that he could use his mystical abilities to amplify his physical ones. This is what enabled him to overcome his former mentor General Brown in combat ability while they dueled with swords.
- Mediumship: Raul found he could utilize his dark mysticism to enter conversations with the dead. Able to pick the memories of the recently deceased in order to fuel his retribution spree against the many ne'er-do-wells of the kingdom.
- Body Control: Raul has the ability to control bodies of his enemies as puppets when he wants to entertain himself such as Victoria's f*ance and Sandra Divas.
- Illusion Casting: Raul can manipulate visual perceptions in order to accomplish a great many deeds; such as shapeshifting to any form he so chooses to confuse his enemies without being detected. Casting potent mirages which can fool the senses to experience whatever he want the affected to feel; making the vision projected psychosomatic in scope. Raul recently flexed an unprecedented application of illusion magic, wherein he can create delusions within a delusion that continually torment those trapped within it. Raul would use this method to torture his despicable ex-best friend with consecutive successive illusions for the purpose of Wendel's death counts.
- Brainwashing: Raul can brainwash the minds of his enemies and control them to do his bidding. In the moments of Victoria's death while controlled the beaten up and sexually violated Sandra Divas, Raul used the former knight commander to stab Victoria to death by snapping his fingers.
- Internal Rupturing: Through concentration Evans can focus his power towards sensitive vital organs causing them to grizzly collapse as he did to Victoria.
- Visual Telepathy: Evans is able to read, take and replay any/all events he or anyone else has within their minds in full view of anyone and everyone whom is within reach. Often using this as a tactic to read an individual their final rights or to expose a persons dirty deeds to a wider audience.
- Weapon Conjuration: Able to manifest armaments out of black mysticism to accentuate his combat ability.
- Curse Manipulation: Raul can enact pretty complex and potent hexation upon any target of his choosing, working this in conjunction with his light magic. He was able to prevent access or exiting of the Kurz capital for its denizens as well as prevent people from dying.
- Voice Amplification: Via gesture the former hero can magnify and project vocal emissions out and over large distances to broadcast messages.
- Body Dismemberment: In the same vein of body manipulation, Raul can even disassemble people bit by bit in grizzly fashion thru magic. I.e. decapitations, appendageal separation, lacerations, internal boiling (largely an illusion), etc.
- Mutilation: Ada while in Raul's body learned he can use his magic to painfully deform and distort physiological structure.
- Dimensional Storage: A faculty he uses for sport, often times whilst Raul is commending someone for getting an answer or doing something generally right. He pop out a little colored flag he keeps in cold storage as a mocking gesture while spurring on their good work.
- Ground Spike Protrusion: The hero can use his powers to gore people on solid stalactites created out of the floor's surface.
- Blood Manipulation: While host to a pretender wearing his guise as the hero, Raul instructed his mindspace guest on how to use his dark powers. When murdering a bunch of evil slavers in grizzly fashion, he mentioned how to use the hemoglobin of their enemies as a means of brutal evisceration, causing plasma spikes to jut out of one body to impale numerous others.
- Psyche Absorption: For a brief time Raul would assimilate the mindscape of another vengeance seeker to use her for his own ends for a time.
- Reanimation: Raul found he could use his arcanum in order to manipulate the deceased for his own purposes like a mad puppeteer.
- Remote Magic Triggering: Raul can access and trigger the magical mechanisms from afar to initate their effrect or cause mystic apparati to self-destruct. Something of which he did with Esmerelda of the National Mage's fire staff/wand.
- Ice Spike Projection: In a bid to test out the scope of his original power over the dark, the hero would use it to grizzly effect by gratuitously impaling the bastard guard at the front gate of the Kurz Kingdom upon his return to Earth. All done both as a gauging of his darkness abilities as well as punishment to the sentries whom indulged in raping and murdering his female companions in his heroes' party.
- Psyche Space Transportation: The hero can take another person's mind and place it within a mental scape where he and others can have private conversations.
- Image Magnification: Raul can use his magic to create televised image captures of people, places or things of whatever he wants.
- Magic Reflection: While in a trance enactd by the State Sorcerers, Raul set up special magic deflecting barriers which either nullify or slap back whatever spells are thrown at him back their casters way. These can be preset or he can initiate the effect while consciously active.
- Dark Magical Blasts: Whilst convincing his conniving ex-associate Wendel the Archmage that he was in fact the real former hero of the world, Raul let off a series of powerful dark energy blasts to show full well he was who he claimed and the seriousness said encounter meant.
- Magic Negation & Absorption: Shown in the arena that Raul transported everyone too whilst transporting himself and the Archmage back in it. The Hero quite easily dispelled a massive fire serpent launched at him by the traitorous Wendell before siphoning away all of his magical power with relative ease. Leaving his malignant former companion defenseless without his arcana. He absorbed Wendel's magic leaving him completely defenseless and weak.
- Teleportation: Raul has the ability to teleport places within seconds. He can also teleport people such as the first 5 demon children's (2 boys and 3 girls) who were suffered torture and sexual harassment at the hands of the psychotic and depraved noble Allingham.
- Light Magic: From the beginning of when he started out as a hero. Mr. Evans had been begotten incredulous sacred powers befitting his status as the enemy of the Demon Lord. All of said powers he possessed when he defeated said king of all daemon aren't as expanded upon as his current dark powers. But he has portrayed some skill in its use even after he'd descended into feral rage and madness.
- Healing: Raul can use his former powers to affect remedial alleviation, able to apply just enough to keep people from dying or provide pain and tension relief to enable even the most heavily bruised individuals the ability to move about again. He also heals a person even if their injuries were horrified and gruesome such as when he heals the dissected-yet-still alive Victoria.
- Barrier Manipulation: Raul Evans is incredibly adept at manipulating protection magic for various purposes. Easily able to entrap an entire urban area and the people living within it to preventing specific individuals from coning and going at their leisure (i.e. enabling traders & outsiders to enter and leave freely while keeping people whom occupy the capital trapped). He can even use them for self-defense, such as deflecting projectiles back at their attackers even from the blind spots around the human body. Like say; deflecting a poisoned arrow aimed at the back of his head which General Brown's wife attempted to kill him with, rebounding it back at her, purposely killing the evil matriarch.
- Revival: The hero can use his magic as a form of moderate resurrection, keeping people who had perished alive for an indefinate amount of time.
- Ruler of Hell: Having signed a magical contract that would alot the Dark Hero to acclimate the powers of the divinity he'd recently slain. Raul now possesses near all the privilages that come with being divine as well as possession of all that hell retains at his fingertips. While not much has changed as of late after acquiring such an illustreous title, he now has command of the many legions of inferno as well as some of the powers of a god to match.
- Fallen Angel Command: While standing in for the God of Hell; Raul now has the fealty of every infernal denizen who makes it their home. From the sinners who are trapped there, to the overseers of said inmates in the disgraced divinities who formerly served its prior leader. He can summon and recall the angelic sect of hell to fight and/or act on his behalf if he so chooses
- Resurrection Magic: As the new God King of Hell, Mr. Evans found he had considerable authority over who gets out and who stays indefinatly. He easily reached in through a hand sized portal to snatch up his old mentor as a reshaped figurine whom he could hold in his hand, bringing him back to life as easily as regular people blink and breath.
- Hell Gate Creation: As the newly christend ruler of Hell & Devildom, Raul can readily access and exit his new dominion at will by con juring black vortices in and out of the burning pits. Thus enabling him and others he so chooses entry and exit of the cruel abyss.
Paraphernalia[]
- Divine Crystal: A but of regalia that once belonged to the God of Hell, it force people to undergo a trial of the heart and soul to peruse and assess their sins and the purity of their being. When faced with a person the opaquitiy of the artifact will change in color and sheen, depending on the person's character and the weight of their individual choices. Shifting from pitch black to flourecent white depending on how good or bad those faced with its judgement are in hindsight. It can also cast powerful illusions that'll break even the strongest of minds when faced with its power, even enabling the wielder to select which hell the effected are predispositioned to be slated for.
- God Killing Sickle: An ancient weapon of godly make crafted for the purpose of slaying the penultimately immortal almighty. It's razors edeg is the sharpest ever made, Raul having easily used it to lop off one of the God of Hell's horns before outright beheading him.
Abilities[]
- Genius-level intelligence: Raul is Supergenius (having absconded with a strengthening drug capable of turning a human into a completely different being, granting immortality, super strength, super speed, super durability, higher perception, and reducing sentiments right under its creators noses). He committed unethical experimentations on his victims turning them into disfigured beings, whilst retaining their lives, making them suffer for eternity
- Absolute Manipulation: Raul manipulated many people (inc. Gods), to do atrocious things, such as enslavement, cannibalism, suicide, murder, self-harm, etc. Raul is a master manipulator and an extremely cunning individual, to the point that he even planned his own death to depart to the afterlife in order to confront Christiana. Constantly persuades the Goddess of Love to break the laws of the realm of gods for his own sake, despite the fact that this would cost her a part of her body. Is an accomplished fighter, who killed the Demon King in the past, and was able to make complicated plans to exact his revenge against his enemies to make them suffer the most before meeting their deaths, all within a single month. Able to master arcane and forbidden spells, something that not even the Archmage Wendell, the best wizard in the entire Kingdom of Kurz, and presumably the entire world, could not hope to master)
- Master Combatant: Although this does not appear much, Raul is a skilled fighter capable of killing dozens with ease. He was shown to slaughter demons effortlessly to save civilians. He also defeated the Demon King with a team. After his return, he barely fought any physical combat except with his former trainer. He showed that he was dominant and played with him easily. Despite obtaining the Dark Magic, Raul was also able to fight the Ruler of Hell with ease and effortlessly for three days inside Hell. This proves his prowess in combat, whether tactical or not.
- Master Swordsman: As a former champion, Raul trained himself to use the sword to fight and proved to be almost invincible in sword fighting, defeating monsters and demons, as well as the Demon King himself. After his return, he was able to defeat dozens of soldiers and slaughter them with ease, and engage in combat with his former trainer and play with him, even though he was older than him in using the sword.
