Ravi Gulati is a fictional character and major antagonist of the long-running British soap opera EastEnders. He debuted on 4th July 2022 and became one of the show's recurring anti-heroes from then onwards.

In his characterisation, Ravi Gulati is a drug trafficker who formerly became prison cellmates with Walford's criminal kingpin Phil Mitchell before later moonlighting himself as a legitimate restauranteur following his release from prison. He is also a member of the local Panesar Family as well as the eldest stepson of it's matriarch Suki Panesar, the wife of Ravi's villainous father Nish Panesar.

He is portrayed by Aaron Thiara.

Biography

Ravi Gulati first came to Walford in early 2022 after being released from prison. He soon begins to operate his criminal activities in the square and later kills his adopted father Ranveer Gulati when their bond falls apart, as well as framing his biological stepmother Suki Panesar for the crime due to Ranveer's attempt to rape Suki earlier on.

Soon enough, Ravi gets reaquainted with his biological father Nish Panesar and his other children. He crosses paths with his eldest son Kheerat, also his arch-rival, and provokes the latter into punching him in The Queen Victoria public house; Kheerat and Ravi then have a fight in the square until Suki breaks it up just moments before she reunites with Nish. It is then Ravi attempts to please Nish by taking co-charge of their criminal family business.

In 2023, Ravi starts a feud with policeman Jack Branning and seduces his wife Denise Fox in order to cover up his illict activities. He then blackmails Denise into helping him by seducing her daughter Chelsea as well and threatening to go after them both if they expose his crimes. However, Denise eventually confesses to Jack about her tryst with Ravi and how he threatened her and Chelsea into silence. Jack responds by confronting Ravi and punching him; they fight until Nish breaks it up and berates Ravi for his recklesness.

In April 2023, Ravi hires local resident Keanu Taylor to start working for him in a drug trafficking operation. When Keanu decides to quit the job, Ravi beats him up as he believes that Keanu with grass him up to the authorities. Ravi is later arrested for attacking Keanu after the latter's fiance Sharon Watts discovers what happened, but is released without charge thanks to Nish's resources. Ravi later confronts Sharon about her actions, but is stopped by her former husband Phil Mitchell from threatening her; Ravi is shocked as he had previously been acquainted with Phil to the point where the latter nearly requested Ravi to eliminate rapist Lewis Butler for victimizing Phil's son Ben Mitchell earlier on.
