Biography[]
Reace was hired by Roger Devereau to help him steal some Rembrandt letters that were in the possession of Professor Arthur Schreiner on the Silver Streak express train. He was meant to hold Schreiner hostage to find out where the letters were, but the professor runs to the roof and Reace shoots him before his body falls off the train, the crime being witnessed by George Caldwell.
Reace assists Edgar Whiney in searching the professor's compartment for the letters, but are then encountered by George, forcing Reace to throw him off the train to cover their tracks.
As the train passes through Colorado, Reace is ordered by Whiney to kill George when they discover that he's back on. But as the train goes through a tunnel, Reace ends up shooting a federal agent named Stevens, who happened to be in the same compartment as George. Reace then chases George into the baggage car, but George blocks the door, forcing Reace to break it down with an axe.
Finally, after searching the baggage car, Reace climbs onto the roof of the train where he is confronted by George, holding him at gunpoint with a spear gun. When Reace refuses to stand down, he is shot in the chest with the spear and falls off the train to his death.
