The Reaper of the Cards is a minor antagonist from Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters. It was the true real version of the Reaper of the Cards card, the guardian of the card graveyard and a soul collector god of death.

Biography

The reaper of the cards looked for the fallen monsters in the card graveyard in order to take their souls. When Yami Bakura and Yami Yugi were playing a shadow game, Joey Wheeler, who was the Flame Swordsman, sacrificed himself. He then woke up in the card graveyard, where he was already being chased by the reaper to get his soul as well. Joey ran away from it, but he fell and it looked like it was over for him, but Yami Yugi resurrected his friend with the monster reborn card so he escaped from the reaper. After his defeat, Yami Bakura ended up in the graveyard, where the reaper wanted to take his soul, but somehow he also managed to escape. In Pegasus' palace, Yami Bakura sent Pegasus's men to the graveyard with a soul reaper suddenly appeared. It is very likely that they were unlucky and it took their souls.
