Rebecca Chen is a major antagonist in the Philippine action drama series Black Rider.
She is a leader of drug cartel in Cebu, Philippines, the arch-rival of Señor Edgardo Magallanes the leader of the most notorious drug dealing and human trafficking syndicate in the Philippines known as Golden Scorpion. In the later episodes, she later becomes the leader of the drug cartel in the Philippines, as Golden Scorpion has fallen with her partnership with Sen. William Romero and Antonio Rodriguez.
She is portrayed by Almira Muhlach who played Shirley Viduya in Madrasta.
Biography[]
At some point, she organized a drug dealing syndicate and led the drug cartel in Cebu, Philippines with her brother Neil Chen. They have been also clashing with their rival multiple times, Edgardo Magallanes and Golden Scorpion.
One night, she confronts and kills one of her lackey after a failed transaction caused by Golden Scorpion. This made her became more competitive and executed her plan to eliminate Edgardo Magallanes and Golden Scorpion as her way to lead the drug cartel in the country with the help of her brother Neil Chen. One day she made alliance with Senator William Romero one of Edgardo’s ally in the government, as Senator William voluntarily pleaded her for alliance as he executes his plan to steal Edgardo’s fortune.
After Elias Guerrero and Calvin Magallanes had an intense duel in a secluded waterfalls causing Calvin’s apparent death, she saved Calvin and treated him. She notes that seeing Calvin reminds her of her son due to their strong resemblance and adapts him for their fortune.
Calvin remained adamant for his goal to become the next leader of Golden Scorpion attempted to escape from her hands, only to stop them by Antonio Rodriguez who raided her mansion learning she was responsible for Calvin’s abduction. Their clash caused Calvin further escape from her and this was ended by Sen. William after facing his former comrade in the police force Antonio. With Sen. William’s connection with Antonio, she forms alliance with Antonio to lead the drug cartel in the country after Golden Scorpion’s defeat.
Later on, while having partnership with Sen. William, she also made affairs to the latter causing her to be impregnated unawarely until she discovers herself after being injured in the shootout between her syndicate and Elias alongside with Nimfa. Upon confirming her pregnancy after miscarriage, her wrath to Elias manifested planning her vengeance of the death of her unborn child.
She was later asked to be Bane’s stepmother, as one of Sen. William’s plan to take advantage Bane’s condition for having amnesia where she loses her memories with Elias and her loved ones. As she was asked to be Bane’s stepmother by lying as her biological mother, there were times she abused Bane for being adamant about forcing herself to remember her past.
One night, they organized a party with William for their celebration for their reign and recovery of Bane. However, the party was disrupted upon Elias and the Golden Scorpion raided their home wherein she got shot by Elias on her legs causing her to be permanently crippled.
Later on, she was abducted by Calvin and Alvaro with William as a blackmail to Bane to marry him. Luckily they were rescued by their men from the hands of Calvin. She was lastly seen grieving William’s death caused by Calvin for shooting him multiple times on the chest. It is unknown what happened to her afterwards as she was never seen again in the rest of the series, however it is presumed that she was arrested by her crimes alongside with her henchmen as William persuades Gen. Ricarte to confess their atrocities. after rescuing the latter from the hands of Calvin.
Personality[]
She is displayed to be charismatic individual as she shows strong leadership and manipulation skills as her way to win over Edgardo Magallanes and Golden Scorpion. For being an opportunistic leader, she is also seen to be murderous and cunning individual as she is capable of killing her men who have failed their operations and opposing her plans viciously as it indicates that she is no-nonsense individual and doesn’t tolerate failures on her syndicate.

- It is implied that she is Chinese descent as her family name Chen implies and wear traditional Chinese female clothes in some shots.
- Her son has strong resemblance with Calvin Magallanes, as she notes that seeing him reminds her of her son.
