Rebecca Rand is the secret main antagonist of the murder-mystery game Contradiction: Spot the Liar!. She was the person who murdered Kate Vine after suspecting she had an affair with her husband, Ryan.
She was portrayed by Melanie Gray.
Appearence[]
She is a British woman with dark-brown hair and brown eyes. When Jenks first meets her, she's wearing a grey long-sleeve shirt with a blue undergarment beneath, light denim pants, and beige fur boots. She also wears a silver necklace and her wedding ring can be seen on her left ring-finger. Her hair is in a low ponytail.
Biography[]
Before Main Events[]
At some point, she married Atlas co-founder Ryan Rand. She also used to grow Salvia Divinorum.
She used to live on a farm.
First Encounter[]
Rebecca is called over to the bar and finds Detective Frederick Jenks. He asks to interview her about Kate Vine's death. She agrees and lets him in a backroom so they can talk.
Contradiction #1[]
"Rebecca said that Kate gave her 20 pounds for a breakage, despite not knowing who was arguing outside or who broke the window."
She admits that it could've been Kate who broke the window, but doesn't know who she was arguing with.
Contradiction #2[]
"Rebecca said that she doesn't take any medicines, but has painkillers prescribed to her."
She explains that they're not really for her and are for Ryan for his arthritis. She doesn't understand why the pharmacist puts them in her name.
Contradiction #3 and Confession[]
"Rebecca said that she taped over the broken window with a patterned tape, but said she last saw the tape a couple months ago."
She plays it off as a mistake, but Detective Jenks reveals that the same tape was on Kate's driving license. She assumes Jenks is accusing her for the murder and says that nothing will come up on the license after DNA testing. She tries to leave, but then admits that she knew about the affair between Ryan and Kate. She also knew about the argument outside between Emma and Kate. She then found her driving license and hid it, then convinced Kate that someone had took it and ran off near the lake. When she fell in, Rebecca had offered no help and started pushing her down with a stick.
Jenks then reveals that Kate never slept with Ryan at all and it was another girl. Rebecca then realized it was actually Emma. She was then arrested.
Trivia[]
- She is one the few people who didn't know Kate personally.
- It is unknown if Rebecca knows about Atlas' true intentions.
