Red is the secondary antagonist of the 3D shoot-em-up platformer video game Mega Man X7.
He is the leader of Red Alert and Axl’s former friend.
Biography[]
When X seemingly went into retirement, Red led his Red Alert vigilante group to hunt down Mavericks.
At the beginning, Red leads Axl on a mission to assassinate Cedar and Aluce who were plotting a scheme to use the Sigma Virus Mk. II. Later, Red meets with someone calling himself "Professor", Sigma. Sigma claims he will sympathize with his cause. As the two watch Axl in action, Sigma believes his actions will be wasted much to Red's horror. Red soon sees that Sigma has gathered DNA Data on the Mavericks that X and company have defeated thus far. The Professor hopes to capture Axl so that he can make the Red Alert hunters even more stronger. Sigma then tells Red there is still unfinished business. When the Red Alert leader decides to quit his partnership, Sigma reveals his has infected the Mavericks of Red Alert as "payment" for their power ups. Left with no choice, Red agrees to cooperate with Sigma.
After Axl meets with X and Zero, Red issues a challenge with Axl on the line. If Red Alert is beaten, they will surrender Axl to X's custody, but Red will regain his former ally if he wins.
After X and his party breach the Crimson Palace, Red reveals that he and Red Alert have become advanced but are reduced to being pawns. He then engages the Maverick Hunters in an intense fight. After losing, Red reveals he set the entire base to self-destruct. He then tells Axl to leave him before he dies in the self-destruction while Axl disguised as Red, defeated Sigma in his damaged form by shooting him in the head which catapulted the slain Sigma off the window off the Crimson Palace's tower.
