Johann Schmidt, more commonly known as Red Skull, is a major antagonist of the LEGO Marvel video game series. Like his original counterpart, he is a Nazi and the leader of HYDRA who got a deformed face from trying the super soldier serum.
Red Skull was a Nazi named Johann Schmidt who injected himself with the super soldier serum. This caused his face to become a Red Skull as is why he is nicknamed that. After the second World War, Red Skull founded HYDRA as well as capture the Tesseract.
Rail Hydra[]
During Captain America and Red Skulls final confrontation, Red Skull sent all of his forces after Rogers, who defeated them all. Arnim Zola told Red Skull that they should retreat, however, Red Skull refused as "HYDRA never gives up". Red Skull and Captain America then had a brief fight before the bridge they were fighting on exploded into two, separating the fighter of justice and the Nazi. Captain America began to build twirl poles in order to use them to get to Red Skull while Red Skull threw explosives at him. Captain America reached Red Skull and beat him up. Red Skull then grabbed the Tesseract, which blasted him into space. Although he was defeated, HYDRA survived by infiltrating S.H.I.E.L.D and lived on, causing more troubles in the decades to come.
It is unknown what happened to Red Skull afterwards.

Becoming Red Skull[]
Just like LEGO Marvel Avengers, Schmidt was a Nazi who became the deformed Red Skull after being injected by the Super Soldier Serum. During a fight with Captain America and Bucky Barnes, Red Skull was trapped under rubble and left to die. HYDRA was able to find Red Skull and save his life. Red Skull became a member of HYDRA and later its leader. Red Skull later teamed up with Loki to get the cosmic peices for Doctor Doom's Doom Ray of Doom.
Read Head Detention[]
Red Skull notices Hawkeye and Black Widow break into the HYDRA base and sends his forces after them. Human Torch them teams up with Hawkeye and Black Widow and defeat Red Skulls forces. They then battle Red Skull and defeat him, leaving him struggling to get up.
LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2[]
Red Skull plays no role in the story. In the open world, he can he found and fought in the Hydra Empire section of Chronopolis, and his character token is unlocked for purchase after his defeat. In this game, he only appears in his Iron Skull armor.
Villains
