Red Velvet (Justice League Action)

Red Velvet is the main antagonist from the Justice League Action episode "She Wore Red Velvet". She was a wealthy woman from the twenty-fifth century who, after marrying Booster Gold, decided to go back in time to stop the marriage from happening at any cost.

She was voiced by Dania Ramirez, who also portrayed Callisto in X-Men: The Last Stand.

Biography[]

Margot Montgomery was the heir to the Montgomery's Regular Toilets fortune. While she was walking down the streets of Metropolis, she met Michael Carter, who was living a bum after he was fired from his job a nightguard. They fell in love at first sight, despite Michael being from a much lower social class than her. In the day of their marrage, Michael left her at the altar so he could travel back to 21st century and raise money to support her. He became a superhero called Booster Gold, joined the Justice League and used his new found reputation to sell books, autographs, sodas, among many other activities to merchandise his own image. After he gained enough money, he went back to the future, returned to the altar, and married with the love of his life.

As the years passed by, Margot realized how much of a terrible husband Michael was. Not only he went bald, but he had spent all of their money in meaningless schemes, driving her insane. Under the alias of Red Velvet, she traveled back in time to stop the marriage from happening, not caring if Michael died in the process. First, she went back in time and tried to kill Booster Gold at his own convention. It didn't work, but the entire building was destroyed, making Booster Gold retrieve to the Watchtower. Since it is located at the top of a dormant volcano, she went back even further in time and blasted through the Earth's crest, so it would blow up a few hours after the convention. Batman, Green Arrow, Wonder Woman and Booster Gold were inside the Watchtower when the volcano started errupting. They managed to fly away in a jetplane, but she caught up to them and blasted the plane's engine. Believing she went mad because she was left alone at the altar, Booster Gold traveled back to the 25th century to finish the wedding. He brought Batman alongside him as a bridesmaid. Red Velvet chased them through the timestream not long after.

Finally, Michael married the woman of his dreams, but it didn't make Red Velvet go away. On the contrary, Red Velvet revealed that marrying him was the reason she went mad in the first place. Once again, she tried to kill Michael, but was defeated by Batman. As she layed on Booster Gold's arms, she tried to convince her past self to not marry Michael by telling her what the future awaits for her. She succeeded, creating a time paradox that erased herself from existence and reseted the timeline back to the status quo, with the Watchtower restored and Booster Gold all alone in the 21st century.

Powers and Abilities[]

Despite not having any superpowers herself, Margot's wedding band grants her the ability to fly, shoot lasers and open portals to other points in the timeline. Her flight speed is fast enough to keep up with jet planes. She used to be a successful businesswoman before her husband wasted their entire fortune.
