The Ghost of Redbeard is a recurring antagonist in the Scooby-Doo franchise. It is a persona adopted by C.L. Magnus to steal cargo from his own ships for insurance.
He was voiced by the late John Stephenson.
Biography[]
Scooby-Doo! Where Are You?[]
Redbeard's first appearance in the franchise was in the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? episode "Go Away Ghost Ship", where he was the main antagonist. He was really a shipping tycoon named C.L. Magnus, who was raiding his own ships, together with his hired henchmen and selling the cargo. He did this in order to keep his bankrupt business afloat.
The New Scooby-Doo! Movies[]
Redbeard later appeared on the The New Scooby-Doo! Movies episode "The Ghostly Creep from the Deep", where he was again the main antagonist. This time he was really an unnamed oil pirate, and not C.L. Magnus.
Scooby-Doo! Mask of The Blue Falcon[]
Redbeard appeared during the credits of the 2013 movie Scooby-Doo! Mask of the Blue Falcon where he chased Scooby and all his friends along the Black Knight, The Space Kook, The Miner 49er and the Ghost Clown.
Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery[]
Redbeard also appeared during the credits of the 2014 film Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery.
Scooby-Doo! Frankencreepy[]
C.L. Magnus appeared in the 2014 film Scooby-Doo! Frankencreepy. Here, he was voiced by Dee Bradley Baker.

Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed[]
Redbeared made a brief cameo in the 2004 movie Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, as a costume. Daphne grabs his sword and uses it to save Scooby and Shaggy from the Pterodactyl Ghost. Later at the Faux Ghost, Scooby and Shaggy see his original portrayer, C.L Mangus (portrayed by Stephen E. Miller).
Scooby-Doo! Night of 100 Frights[]
In the 2002 videogame, Scooby-Doo! Night of 100 Frights, Redbeard is one of the villains brought back by the Mastermind. Redbeard is the third boss in the game (the first two being the Black Knight Ghost and the Phantom Shadow) and can be seen guarding Fred, who is trapped in a Barrel. After Scooby defeats Redbeard, he frees Fred.
Scooby-Doo! Who's Watching Who?[]
Redbeard appeared in the 2006 videogame Scooby-Doo! Who's Watching Who?. He is the fourth boss in the game.

Redbeard appeared in the My Friend Scooby-Doo app.
